ORDINANCE NO. 0-01-20
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE DATE FOR THE
INAUGURATION OF VILLAGE OFFICERS ELECTED
AT THE APRIL 3, 2001 CONSOLIDATED ELECTION
IN THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
WHEREAS, Section 3.1 -10 -15 of the Illinois Municipal Code authorizes the corporate
authorities of the Village of Deerfield to adopt an ordinance fixing the date for inauguration of newly
elected officers of the Village, provided that the time for inauguration of newly- elected officers shall
not be later than the first regular or special meeting of the corporate authorities in the month of May
following the election; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that it is in the best interests of the Village
of Deerfield that the officers newly elected as°President. and Trustees of the Village of Deerfield at
the Consolidated Election held on April 3, 2001 be inaugurated at an adjourned meeting of Board
of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield to be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at 8:00 p.m.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,
in the exercise of its home rule powers, as follows:
SECTION 1: That April 25, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. in the Deerfield Village Hall, 850 Waukegan
Road, Deerfield, Illinois, is hereby fixed as the date, time and place for the inauguration of the
officers newly elected as President and Trustees of the Village of Deerfield at the Consolidated
Election held on April 3, 2001, and as the date on which their terms of office shall commence.
SECTION 2: That the regular Village Board meeting of April 16, 2001 shall be adjourned
to Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. for the inauguration of the officers newly elected as
President and Trustees of the Village of Deerfield.
SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval as provided by law.
