ORDINANCE NO. 2025- 0-25-21
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSITION OF FOUR SURPLUS
VEHICLES OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
WHEREAS, the Village is the owner of four certain surplus vehicles, all described in
detail on Exhibit A attached to and, by this reference, made a part of this Ordinance
(collectively, the "Property'); and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that ownership of the Property is no
longer necessary or useful to, or for the best interests of, the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that it will serve and be in the best
interests of the Village and its residents to dispose of the Property in accordance with this
Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION ONE: RECITALS. The foregoing recitals are incorporated into, and
made a part of, this Ordinance as findings of the Village Board.
SECTION TWO: AUTHORIZATION TO DISPOSE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY. Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/11-76-
4, and the Village's home rule authority, the Village Board declares that ownership of the
Property is no longer necessary or useful to, or in the best interests of, the Village. The
Village Board hereby authorizes and directs the Village Manager to dispose of the Property
through an auction conducted by America's Auto Auction.
SECTION THREE: EXECUTION OF RE(JUIRED DOCUMENTATION. The
Village Manager and the Village Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and attest, on behalf
of the Village, all documents necessary to complete the disposition of the Property authorized
pursuant to Section Two of this Ordinance.
SECTION FOUR: PUBLICATION. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Illinois.
SECTION FIVE: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance will be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
