ORDINANCE NO. 2025- 0-25-01
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-68 OF
"THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, ILLINOIS, 1975,"
AS AMENDED. REGARDING ACTING VILLAGE MANAGER
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-68 of "The Municipal Code of the Village of
Deerfield, Illinois, 1975", as amended ("Village Code'), the Village specifies the authority
and role of the Village Manager ("Village Manager Regulations'); and
WHEREAS, the Village Manager Regulations provide that the Village Manager may
appoint an Acting Village Manager in the event of the temporary absence or disability of the
Village Manager; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board desires to modernize and amend the Village Manager
Regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that it will serve and be in the best
interests of the Village and its residents to amend the Code pursuant to this Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION ONE: RECITALS. The foregoing recitals are incorporated into, and
made a part of, this Ordinance as findings of the Village Board.
SECTION TWO: AMENDMENT TO SECTION 2-68 OF THE VILLAGE
CODE. Section 2-68, titled "Acting Village Manager," of Article 5, titled "Village Manager,"
of Chapter 2, titled "Administration," of the "The Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield,
Illinois, 1975", as amended, is hereby amended further and shall read as follows:

SECTION THREE: PUBLICATION. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Illinois.

SECTION FOUR: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance will be in full force and
effect after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
