Home My WebLink AboutR-24-92VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD RESOLUTION NO. 2024- R-24-92 A RESOLUTION WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR THE CUSTOMIZATION OF PUBLIC WORKS TRUCK NUMBER 604 WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield ("Village's is a home rule municipality in accordance with Article VII, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and WHEREAS, the Village Public Works Department has identified a need to custom outfit the interior of Public Works Truck Number 604 with appurtenances required for water main maintenance work ("truck Customization'); and WHEREAS, Sauber Manufacturing Co. ("Sauber) submitted a proposal for the Truck Customization in the amount of $126,548.00; and WHEREAS, the Village desires to enter into a contract with Sauber for the Truck Customization and expend $126,548.00 ("Contract'); and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees have determined that waiving bidding and entering into the Contract with Sauber for the Truck Customization will service and be in the best interests of the Village and its residents; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: RECITALS. The Village Board hereby adopts the foregoing recitals as its findings, as if fully set forth herein. SECTION 2: WAIVER OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING. Pursuant to its home rule authority, the Village Board hereby waives the advertising and competitive bidding requirements for the Truck Customization. SECTION 3: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT. Pursuant to the Village's home rule authority, the Contract by and between the Village and Sauber is hereby approved in substantially the form attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A. SECTION 4: AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE CONTRACT. The Mayor and the Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest, on behalf of the Village, the final Contract upon receipt by the Village Clerk of at least one original copy of the final Contract executed by Sauber; provided, however, that if the executed copy of the final Contract is not received by the Village Clerk within 60 days after the effective date of this Resolution, then this authority to execute and attest will, at the option of the Mayor and Board of Trustees, be null and void. SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by two-thirds of the Village Board according to law.
