Home My WebLink AboutR-24-72VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD RESOLUTION NO. 2024- R-24-72 A RESOLUTION WAIVING BIDDING AND RATIFYING AGREEMENT FOR EMERGENCY TREE REMOVAL BY ADVANCED TREE CARE WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield ("Village') is a home rule municipality in accordance with Article VII, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and WHEREAS, the Village desires to pay expenditures for the storm related emergency tree removal ("Purchase'); and WHEREAS, the Village solicited costs for tree trimming and removal in 2023 from qualified firms to complete tree related services; and WHEREAS, the Village determined that Advanced Tree Care ("Vendor'), provided services that meet the needs of the Village based on staff evaluation; and WHEREAS, due to a storm, there was an emergency that required the Village to immediately retain Vendor to provide emergency services pursuant ("Work'); and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees have determined that waiver of bidding and ratification of the Purchase will serve and be in the best interest of the Village and its residents; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION ONE: RECITALS. The Village Board hereby adopts the foregoing recitals as its findings, as if fully set forth herein. SECTION TWO: WAIVER OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING. Pursuant to Section 9-16 of the Village Code and the Village's home rule authority, the Village Board waives the requirement of competitive bidding for the Demolition Work. SECTION THREE: RATIFICATION OF PURCHASE. The emergency Purchase set forth in the invoice attached as Exhibit A is hereby ratified and approved by the Village. SECTION FOUR: AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT. The Mayor and the Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest, on behalf of the Village, all documents necessary to pay for the Purchase. SECTION FIVE: EFFECTIVE DATE.
