HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-24-38VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD RESOLUTION NO. 2024- R-24-38 A RESOLUTION TO CONCUR WITH THE DEERIELD PARK DISTRICT CONTRACT WITH ALAMP CONCRETE CONTRACTORS, INC. FOR THE PATTY TURNER CENTER RESURFACING PROJECT WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield ("Village's is a home rule municipality in accordance with Article VII, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and WHEREAS, on May 10, 1990, the Village executed the Brickyards Park Lease Agreement, as amended ("Lease Agreement'), with the Deerfield Park District ("Park District'); and WHEREAS, the Lease Agreement requires that the Village and Park District evenly divide all capital costs associated with the operation and maintenance of the Patty Turner Center; and WHEREAS, the Village and the Park District have identified the need to resurface the parking lot of the Patty Turner Center ("Work'); and WHEREAS, the Park District proposes entering into a contract with ALamp Concrete Contractors, Inc., of Schaumburg, Illinois ("Contractor's to perform the Work in an amount of $289,000 ("Contract'); and WHEREAS, the Village's portion of the cost for the Contract is $144,500.00; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees have determined that concurring with the award of the Contract with Contractor will serve and be in the best interest of the Village and its residents; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION ONE: RECITALS. The Village Board hereby adopts the foregoing recitals as its findings, as if fully set forth herein. SECTION TWO: CONCURRING WITH AWARD OF CONTRACT. The Mayor and Village Board hereby concur with the Park District's award of the Contract to Contractor. SECTION THREE: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
