O-55-021,12 J ORDINANCE .NO. /5 D' An Ordinance,Amending the Ordinance for the Regulation of the Municipally Owned Sewer System of the Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that: Section 1. Ordinance No; 146, passed on October 26, 1954 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE FOR THE REGULATION AND OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPALLY OWNED SEWAGE SYSTEM OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, FIXING RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE USE THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SAID RATES AND CHARGES" is hereby amended by changing Section 1 thereof to read as follows: "Section 1. For any lot, parcel of land, building or premises situated within the corporate limits of the Village of Deerfield, Illinois, and having any connection with or abutting on a street, or ways served by the Village Sanitary Sewerage System or otherwise discharging sanibary sewerage, industrial wastes, water or other liquids, either directly or indirectly, into the Village Sanitary Sewerage System, there be and there are bereby established rates and charges for the use and service of the sewage system of the Village, Such rates and charges shall be based on the amount of water supplied by the municipal water works system as shown by the water meter readings for each two month period, and shall be as follows: 2A¢ per 100 cubic feet first 2,000 cubic feet per month 18¢ per 100 cubic feet next 3,000 cubic feet per month 16¢ per 100 cubic feet next 5,000 cubic feet per month 14¢ per 100 cubic feet next 50,000 cubic feet per month 12¢ per 100 cubic feet over 60,000 cubic feet per month "Provided that for all premise® used for residential purposes that have been occupied during the preceding winter, the bill for each two -month period shall be based on the water used during the two -month period which included the preceding month of January; and for any lot, parcel of land,:building or premises other than premises used solely for resi- dential purposes, such rates and charges shall be based on the amount of water u sed thereon or therein during the current billing period as the same is measured,by the Village water meter there in use. "Provided, however, that any lot, parcel of land, building or premises served either in or without the corporate limits of the Village of Deerfield may, at the owner's expense, be serviced by the installation of a separate meter, for metering of water not to be discharged directly or indirectly into the City Sanitary Sewage System, and no charge or rental for the service herein provided for shall be made on the amount of water measured by such separate meter. Such installation shall be subject to the supervision and approval of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield. "The minimum charge shall be ninety cents ( 90¢) per month. 1 [1 1% 1 9I; C,0 1 1 "In all cases in which users of said sewer service are not supplied with water from the municipal water works syste4i, the charge for the use of the sewage seYvice shall be such as may be set by ordinance from time to time but not less than a minimum of $1.80 each two months or fraion thereof, plus fifty cents (50¢) additional for each person over three (3) living or employed on the premises served by said sewage system on the first day of each period for which such charge is made. The charge to premises outside the corporate limits served by the muni- cipal sewer system shall be three and one -half (3j) times the charge for similar service to premises within the corporate limits. "Ten percent additional shall be paid if the bill is not paid by the eighteenth (18th) day of the month following the last month for which it is rendered. "A deposit in accordance with the following schedule shall be made with each application for sewer service, this sum to be retained by the Village to insure the payment of all bills. When ser�iice to the applicant is discontinued permanently, this deposit, less any amount still due to the Village for services relating to the use of the municipal sanitary sewer system shall be refunded without interest. Provided that where an applicant for sanitary sewer service is the owner of the premises to be served, no such deposit shall be required.
