ORDINANCE NO. /2Z
BE IT ORDAINED by the President -and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield, that:
The Village Manager, with the approval of the Board of Trustees,
is hereby authorized to hire a Police Commissioner for the Village of
Deerfield.
It shall be the duty of the Police Commissioner to supervise all
the activities of the Police Department, and he shall be responsible
for the keeping of all records, care of all Village property in the
hands of the Police Department, and shall supervise all members of the
Police Department and all special policemen and crossing guards in their
performance of their duties. All such policemen, special policemen and
crossing guards shall perform their duties subject to the direction and
supervision of the Police'Commissioner.
The Police Commissioner also bhall be custodian of lost property
and abandoned property in the Village.
The Police Commissioner shall receive a salary of THREE HUNDRED
FIFTY DOLLARS ($350.00) per month until such salary is changed by the
Board of Trustees.
The compensation of Policeman Petersen shall be THREE HUNDRED
THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS ($335.00) per month.
The action previously taken designating Percy McLaughlin as Acting
Chief is hereby rescinded.
