A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE RELEASE OF CLOSED MEETING MINUTES
THAT NO LONGER REQUIRE CONFIDENTIAL TREATMENT
WHEREAS, Section 2.06(d) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/2.06(d))
requires that the corporate authorities of the Village of Deerfield periodically review the minutes
of the closed session meetings of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield to determine
whether the need for confidentiality still exists as to such closed session meeting minutes; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Deerfield have reviewed the
minutes of the closed session meetings of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield and
have determined that the meeting minutes of certain closed sessions of the Board of Trustees still
require confidential treatment, and that the closed session meeting minutes identified on Exhibit
A to this Resolution no longer require confidential treatment and should be made available for
public inspection; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, in the exercise of its home rule powers, as follows:
SECTION 1: The corporate authorities of the Village of Deerfield hereby find and
determine that a need for confidentiality no longer exists as to the minutes of closed sessions
identified on Exhibit A attached hereto and such minutes shall be available for public inspection.
SECTION 2: The corporate authorities further determine that it is no longer necessary
to maintain verbatim recordings of the closed meeting listed on Exhibit A and hereby approve
the destruction of such recordings for meetings not sooner than 18 months after date of the
meeting recorded.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval as provided by law.
