ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AND TO AMEND THE PRO-
VISIONS RELATING TO REPAIRS OF WATER PIPES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the general Municipal Code of the
Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois, passed and ap-
proved under date of January 21, 1946 be, and the same is,
hereby amended in the following respects:
That Section 380 Repairs), of Article II, Service
Pipes, of Chapter 18,Water, be amended by striking out all of
said Section 380 Repairs and concurrently inserting in lieu
thereof and in substitution therefor a new Section 380 Repairs,
to be and read as follows:-
"380 Repairs). All repairs on service pipes
✓ from the mains to the premises to be served and
in the plumbing systems of buildings served shall
be made by and at the expense of the owners of
the premises served.

"If repairs are not made within ten days
after written notice by the Superintendent of Pub-
lic Works or someone authorized by him, directing
the repairs to be made, is received by the owner
or occupant of the building served by the pipes,
the water supply may be shut off until the pipes
are repaired.
"The Village may, in case of emergency, re-
pair any service pipes, and if this is done, the
cost of such repair work shall be paid to the
Village by the owner of the premises served."
