AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the village of Deerfield, that:
The zoning ordinance of the village of Deerfield enacted
May 4, 1953 be and the same is hereby further amended by adding
thereto and inserting therein, in Section V. of said zoning ordi-
nance the following paragraph to be known as Paragraph 15.
"15. Wheremer in this ordinance there is reference
to, or a requirement for, a minimum area, or side yards,
front yards, or rear yards, or reference to the total
area of a lot which may be covered by buildings or other
structures, any part of such lot that is subject to an
easement to a drainage district for egress or ingress in
connection with the maintenance or improvement of a ditch
or waterway for surface wtter drainage shall not be con-
' sidered in computing such areas, side yards, front yards,
or rear yards, and the requirements of this ordinance for
ti area, side yards, front yards, and rear yards, or relating
to the intensity of use of the lot for buildings shall be

I am enclosing an ordinance to amend the zoning ordi-
nance so as to exclude from computation of area require-
ments any part of a lot covered by an easement in connec-
tion with the drainage ditch.
I think the public notice could simply state that the hear-
ing is held to consider a proposed amendment as follows -
and then follow with a copy of the proposed amendment ver-
batim.
A similar amendment could be added to Ordinance No.169,
the subdivision ordinance, but no public hearing would
be needed on it.
I think the subdivision ordinance could be amended before
the zoning amendment is enacted.
The policy of adopting this amendment is of course entirely
up to the Board of Trustees.
