AN'ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE BUILDING
CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD,
LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, ADOPTED UNDER
DATE OF MAY 14, 1946, BY ADDING THERE-
TO, REGULATIONS uuITH RESPECT TO PLUIIRB-
ING MATERIALS AND S'T'RUCTURES, ELECTRIC
WIRING AND APPARATUS, SEPTIC TANK IN-
STALLATION AND MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

That the Building Code of the Village
of Deerfield, adopted under date of May 14, 1946, be, and
the same is hereby amended as follows:
That Section 23, Article V, of said
Building Code be amended by inserting additional paragraphs
immediately following the first paragraph of said Section
23 in order that said Section 23, as amended, shall be
and read as follows:
1123 Regulations adopted) There are hereby
adopted and incorporated herein by reference
the provisions of the "Suburban Building
Regulations For Residences(March 1946 Edition)
published by the Suburban Building Officials
Conference, 160 N. LaSalle Street, Chicago 1,
Illinois."
(a) There are hereby adopted and
incorporated herein by reference the provisions
of the "United States Department of Commerce
- National Bureau of Standards, Building Mat-
erials and Structures Report BM S66 Plumbing
Manual issued under date of November 22, 1940.11
(b) There are hereby adopted and in-
corporated herein by reference the provisions
of 11NBFU of the National Board of Fire Under-
writers for Electric Wiring and Apparatus
issued under date of October 4, 1946.11
(c) There are hereby adopted and in-
corporated herein by reference the provisions
of the "Circular Series, Index Number G5.5,
Septic -Tank Systems, University of Illinois
Bulletin, Volume 44, Number 62, published
under date of June 16, 1947.11

(d) Plumbing fees) . The fee for
the approval of plans, inspections and tests
of any plumbing within any building shall be
$1.00 per fixture.
(e ) Electrical fees) . The fee for
the approval of plans, inspections and tests
for all electrical wiring and apparatus in-
stallation shall be as follows:
Base charge for light wiring or
small motors .................... 1.50
Switches per outlet .............. .05
Fixtures per outlet.............. .05
Plug receptacles per outlet...... .05
Motors (2 H.P. or over) $2 plus
5¢ a H.P............... 2.05
(One Horsepower equals 746 watts)
Heating devices, $2 plus 5� a H.P.2.05
Lighting fixtures $1 plus 5� each 1.05
Wiring for electric signs
@ $3 each...................... 3.00
(f) Fees for Miscellaneous Items). The
fee for the approval of plans, inspections
and tests for the erection or alteration of
any fire escape shall be $5.00.
(g) Fees for Canopy or Marquee Erection).
The fee for the approval of plans, inspections
and tests for the erection or alteration of any
Canopy or Marquee shall be $10.00.
(h) Fees for Isolated Chimneys). The fee
for the approval of plans, inspections and tests
for any isolated chimney or chimne s over 50 feet
in height above any roof shall be 10.00.
(i) Fees for Elevator or Mechanical
Equipment used for raising or lowering a pro -
seenium fire curtain, stage or orchestra floor,
or a platform, dumbwaiter, or escalator) . The
fee for the approval of plans, inspections and
tests for the construction, installation or_�.
alteration of any Elevator or Mechanical Equip-
ment used for raising or lowering a proseenium
fire curtain, stage or orchestra floor, or
a platform, dumbwaiter or escalator shall be
$25.00.
All repair, construction and alteration work
done in the Village shall be performed in com-
pliance with the regulations above referred to;
and all workmanship and material shall comply
with the standards therein specified."

SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ord-
inances in conflict with this ordinance be, and the same
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That this ordinance 'shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication according to law.
