AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE BUILDING
CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD,
LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO INCREASE
THE MINIMUM FLOOR AREA FOR RESIDENCES
WHEREAS, under the Building Code of the
Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois, which Code
was adopted May 14, 1946, the provisions of the "Suburban
Building Regulations for Residences (March 1946 Edition)
published by the Suburban Building Officials Conference,
160 N. LaSalle Street, Chicago 1, Illinois" was adopted
and incorporated in said Building Code by reference, and
Paragraph A - hiving Unit, Section 201 - Space Requirements,
does not in the opinion of the President and Board of
Trustees provide for a sufficient minimum floor area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE
COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Paragraph A - Living Unit,
Section 201 - Space Requirements, of the Suburban Building
Regulations for Residences, published by the Suburban Build-
ing Officials Conference as incorporated by reference in
the Building Code of the Village of Deerfield, Lake County,
Illinois, under date of May 14, 1946, be amended by striking out
all of that section designated "A" a�, Living Unit, and con-
currently inserting in lieu thereof and in substitution
therefor, a new section A - Living Unit, to be and to read
as follows:
"A• Living Unit. Provide at least one bedroom and
one bathroom, and space for living, dining,
cooking, storage, utility and heating as
follows:

SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict with this ordinance be, and the same
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That this cr dinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication according to law.
