The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield was called to order by the President Lincoln Pettis
at S P. M.
Roll call; Present- 17arner ,To3.1,Selig,Osterman,Ender.
Absent None. -
Minutes,of the regular meeting held July. 2nd, 1923 undnof
the special meeting held July 23rd 1923 were, read.
Moved by Trustee Warner and seconded by Trustee Ender that,
the minutes be approved as read-with the correetion,thdt the
bills be specified as to the funds from -which they are paid.Carried.
Moved by Trustee Ender and seconded by Trustee Toll that
Trustee Warner be authorized to communicate with Gray,,Hunter
& Co. with reference to overcharge on their audit.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken; Yeas- Warner,
Toll, Selig, Osterman,Ender..Naes- None...
A communication from E. H. Willman dxtendering his res-
ignation as Treasurer was lead.
Moved by Trustee Warner and seconded by Trustee Ender that
the resignation of Mr. E. R. Willman as Treasurer be accepted.
Motion carried.
Moved,by Trustee Warner and seconded by Trustte Ender that
Mr. E. H. Willman be appointed -as Acting Treasurer until a per -
'' manent Treasurer is appointed -.
Upon roll call the following vote.was taken; Yeas- Warner,

LOWERING OF WATERMAIN ACROSS SKOKIE DITCH.
Moved by Trustee Warner and seconded•by Trustee Osterman
that the Water Committee be authorized . to- takq,aotion for the
lowering of the -watermain.across the-Skokie Ditch.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken; Yeas- Warner,
Toll, Selig, Osterman,Ender. Naes— None.

ordinance providing for the licensing of vehicles and
providing a penalty foe the violation thereof, was read.
Moved by Trustee Warner and seconded by Trustee Ender
that all contrary rules be suspended and the ordinance be placed
on its passage. '

DEERFIELD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIS�,ION ORDINANCE.
An ordinance creating the Deerfield Planning and Zoning
ommision and defining its duties and powers was read.
• Moved by Trustee Ender and seconded by Trustee Warner that
all,:contrary rules be suspended and the ordinance be placed on
its passage.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken; Yeas - Warner,
'Toll, Selig, Osterman, Ender. Naes- None.
Moved by Trustee Toll and seconded by Trustee Ender that
the ordinance be passed as read.

The President appointed the following as members of the
Deerfield Planning and Zoning Commission:- Wm. Carr, Theodore ?C

Pettis.
Moved by Trustee'Ender and seconded by Trustee Warner
that the appointments be ratified.
Upon roll call the .following vote was taken, Yeas- Warner,

field Planning and Zoning Commission.
Moved by Trustee Warner and seconded by Trustee Ender that
the appointment be ratified. Carried.
B ILL'S - BOARDS OR SIGNS
Moved.by'Trustee Toll and seconded by Trustee Warner that
the Attorngy be requested to draw up an ordinance regulating
the erection of bill - boards or signs on streets or in the
village of Deerfield.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken; Yeas- Warner,

RIGHT OF WAY
Moved by Trustee Warner an - seeonded by Trustee Ended'that
the clerk be instructed to make application toA-the C.M. &St.P. i
Rr.Co. for permission to.remove dirt from right -of -way, north
of Greenwood Ave. to such extent as to relieve the-obstruction
of view from said highway and the clerk is further authorized
to sign for the Village;proper waiver of liability +incurred
through the removal of the fences while said. dirt is being
taken away. Carried.
