ORDINANCE NO. 14
AN ORDINANCE to amend Article V.
HEALTH OFFICER - Chapter 4,
APPOINTIVE OFFICES, and Article IV,
BOARD OF HEALTH - Chapter 7,
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS of the Municipal
Code of Deerfield of 1946.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the Municipal Code of Deerfield of
1946 passed and approved under date of January 2, 1946, be,
and the same is hereby amended in the following respects:
(a) That Sections 55 and 56 of Article V, Health Officer,
Chapter 4, APPOINTIVE OFFICES,, be so amended by striking out
all of said Sections 55 and 56 and concurrently inserting in
lieu thereof and in substitution therefore, a new Section 55
and Section 56 to be and read as follows:
"55 Duties.) The Health Officer shall be an enforcing
officer for the Board of Health, and shall see to the
enforcement of all rules of the Board. He shall give
to the Board information and advice concerning the
health of the Village, and shall perform such other
duties as may be assigned to him by the Board.
"56 Analysis.) It shall be the duty of the Health
Officer to arrange for analysis of any food or
drink alleged to be tainted or unwholesome, and to
arrange for an analysis of the drinking water of
the Village whenever requested to do so by the
Board of Health."
(b) That Section 87 of Article IV, Board of Health -
Chapter 7, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS, be so amended by striking out
all of said Section 87 and concurrently inserting in lieu
thereof and in substitution therefore, a new Section 87 to
be and read as follows:
"87 Creation.) There is hereby created the Board
of Health for the Village, which shall consist
of three members to be appointed by the President
and Board of Trustees. Said members of the Board
of Health shall hold office for three years or until their
successors are appointed and qualified. Each year the
President of the Village shall designate one member to
serve as Chairman of the Board of Health for a period
of one year."
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or part os ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.
SECTION Z: That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according
to•law.
