The following bills were read and approved: Public Service Company $ 75.00 Coleman Lamp Co. .97 Legal Adviser Publishing Co. 1.08 Fred Selig 4.95 Goo. Pettis 4.20 F. C. Biederatedt 10.90 F. H. Murphy 2.70 $189.80 Moved by Trustee Reichelt,.seconded * by Trustee Juhrend, that the bills be paid and charged to their respective funds thenever the condition of the Village Treasurer's cash will permit. Copy of sidewalk notice, dated July 7, 1915, to R. M. Vent, regarding sidewalk on property on the north side of Ostorinan Ave. between Lincoln Ave. and Grand Ave. was read. Petitions from Herman Frost and John A. Stryker for permissi.on to place underground gasoline tanks with pumps on the curb side of sidewalk adjacent to their places of business were read. The secretary vies instructed to write Messrs. Frost and Stryker that permission to install underground gasoline tanks with pump attachments would be granted for the purpose of.supplying gasoline to automobiles and other motor vehicles, and filling cane direct from the hose attachment into such vehicles and cans. The location of tank-and accessories will be agreed upon by a committee of'three trustees appointed by'the President. No cans filled or partly filled must be allowed to stand on the sidewalk or in front or about the premisea.under penalty of having the entire permission revoked. The President appointed Trustees Pettis,`Reiehelt and Remy on this committee. Moved by Trustee Reay and seconded by Trustee Pettis and unanimously approved. The bond of T. J. Kneek as Village Col3leetor and Clerk, for the ensuing year Yms read and approved. Moved by Trustee Reichelt and seconded by Trustee Juhrend, and unanimously accepted. The Clerk ryas instructed to write Cdr. John C. Ender, stating that the Board understands from the Marshal, who was appointed inspector of eater works, that tees have not been put in for the hydrants on Eugene St: as agreed upon with the Board of Local Improvements, and that. this matter should receive your prompt attention. The following appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending April 309 19169 was read:. v, r, AL July 12, 1915. (Continued) AN ORDINANCE MING APPROPRILTION FOR CORPORATE PURPOSES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING APRIL 30 1916 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TRH: VILLAGE OF DEZRFIELD. SECTION 1. That .the following sums; as hereafter specified, are hereby • appropriated to defray all necessary expenses and liabilities of the Village of Deerfield, in the County -of Lake, and State of Illinois, fox, therfiscal year commencing May 19 1915, and ending April 30, 1916, for the following purposes, to wit, all to be raised by taxation. FEES AND SALARIES FUND: For fees and salaries of Village Attorney and Village MarahaY 900 STREET LIGHTING FUND: ' For street lighting purposes - 900 r • STREET AND ALLEY FUND: For grading, maintaining, and repairing streets and ' constructing, crossings 1,200 STECIAL ASSESSMENT ON PUBLIC BENEFITS 2,000 GENERAL AND CONTINGENT MISCELLANFAUS FUNDS: : For general and contingent miscellaneous corporate expenses not heretofore enumerated 500 Total* 50500 ., SECTION 2. The unexpired balance, if any, of any item or items of any general appropriation made by this ordinance may be expended in making up any deficiency, if any; in any item or items, in the,general approp- r;, 'riotions and for.the said general purpose if required. SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith shell be and are hereby repealed. s - SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its, approval. Uoved by Trustee Reay and seconded by Trustee Pettis that the ordinance be approved as read. - Carried unanimously. . The President appointed the following Water Board for the ensuing '. fyear: Trustee Reay, Chairmen; Reichelt and Pettis. Moved by Trustee Horenberger, seconded by Trustee Hempstead, that the appointment the President be' confirmed. Carried unanimously. The President reported that the railroad company has discontinued the services of the Marshal on Osterman Ave. crossing from 6 :30 to 8 :30 p.m. from July let last. After "discussion it was agreed that this was a most dangerous crossing which should be protected by a flag man at least until midnight, but final action on this matter was postponed to a future meeting.
