requesting the Village Board to prohibit the continuance of
holding carnivals on Sunday and also. the sale of beer at .

The regular meeting-of-the-President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Deerfield-was--called--to-order by the President
Christian Willman,at 8 P:. M, with-the-following trustees -respond-
ing to roll, call; Hertel-, Palmer,-- - Peterson,— Pottenger, Schneider
and Stupple. Absent None.

The minutes , of -our regular - meeting held May 111-193.7 were
read and approved.
The chairman -of the-License-Committee--reported that the
tavern owners, ' have--again taken- out--licenses -for- another year.
Notices will -be enclosed with the July-water--bills requesting
those owning'•dogs to make- application -for their 1937 -1938
licenses.
. ` . The chairman- of- the- Public--Worke Committee stated that
the_ Septic tanks have been-pumped-out.-and-are-in good condi—
The chairman of the- Water Committee gave a financial
report which it was regularly moved,- seconded and carried to
accept.a
- A-letter- from -the Deerfield State Bank. relative ' to-certain
collaterral in connection with the I'. M. Hole note was referred
to the Corporation Counsel# with instructions to draw up the
necessary resolution to be presented at the next regular meeting
of the Board. ,
-A letter from Mrs. L. H. Waite with reference to the
pay-
ment of water bill was read and referred to the Water Commits ee
July, A request was made for a permit to pick up and store
g ,ge and this request was referred*,to the License.'Committee.

Of Chicago, -Ill. -stated that he wished
to make:a complaint-to - the Board with reference to undue authority
which he "claims were exercised by Trustee Palmer and this was,
referred to the Police and Fire Committee and the Corporation
Counsel McGaughey.
A letter from�Jack'Johnston tendering his resignation as
Fire Chief was read and it was moved by Trustee Peterson and
Motion-carried.- Stupple.-that his resignation be: accepted..
seconded.-by trustee St _ ..
The following bills were read and a motion was made by
Trustee Stupple and seconded by Trustee Peterson that these
bills be approved for payment on receipt of proper funds.
Roll call resulted as follows. Those voting "Ayes_ being
Trustee Hertel, Palmer, Peterson, Pottenger, Schneider and
Stupple. Those voting "Kaypbbeing None. Motion carried.
