02/07/1936 + 02/11/1936ri February 7, 1936. A special meeting of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by,the President Harry. E.- Wing_c.t 7 :30 P. M. for the.purpose of meeting with a rep - resentative_from the State Sanitary Water Board to discuss the mat - ter -of the pollution of the North Branch of the Chicago River and also for further discussion on the creating of a Fire District. Trustees present were:- McKillip, Peterson,.Pottenger and Scribner. Absent- Trustee Willman. The President announced that the representative from the Sanitary.Water Board had not arrived and we would therefor take up the matter of creating a. Fire.District. Mayor Kenneth F. Towler of-Bannockburn was introduced to the members of the board. The Engineer James Anderson, III was asked to - explain the map showing,;the boundaries for the proposed Fire District to members of va,_`%Y re Departments for the purpose .of• ascertaining if • there were any objections. There being no objections, the.President requested the Corpo- ration Counsel and the Engineer to take the next necessary step and to have petitions prepared. February 11, 19 221 A regular meeting of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield wn.s..called to order by the President Harry E. Wing at 7;30 P. M. with the following responding to the roll call:- Trustee McKillip, Peterson, Pottenger,-,Scribner and Willman. Absent- None. The minutes of the regular meeting held January 14, 1936,, . and of the special meetings held January 28, 1936 and February 7, 1936 were read and approved. CLASS D LICENSES. It was moved by Trustee Peterson.and seconded by Trustee MCKillin that the annual license fee.for'Class D licenses be raised to Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars and that not more than tro Class D licenses be issued in any one year. Roll call resulted as follows:- Yeas- Trustee McKillip*,, Peterson, Pottenger and Scribner. Nays- Trustee Willman. Motion carried: 1936 CITY VEHICLE TAGS. A motion was made by Trustee Peterson and seconded by Trustee • Scribner that - warrants be issued after March 15, 1936 for the arrest of automobile owners - residing in the Village of Deerfield who have not purchased their 1936 City Vehicle Tag prior tq the above date. Those voting Yea were Trustee McKillip, Peterson, Pottenger, Scribner and Willman. Nays- None. Motion carried. ADDITIONAL GRANT FOR EXPENSES AT SKATING RINK. Trustee Pottenger :Wade a motion.which was duly seconded by Trustee'Scribner that we allow an amount not'to exceed Fifty ($50.001 Dollars a expenses at the skating rink for�the remainder of the season. Upon roll cull the following vote was taken. Yeas- Trustee McKillip) Peterson, Pottenger, Scribner and Willman. Nays- None. Motion. carried. , " POLICE RADIO SERVICE. A letter from Sheriff Tiffany of Lake.County relative to in- stalling a,Police Radio for the Village of Deerfield was-read and a motion was made `by Trustee Pottenger and seconded by Trustee Peter - son that the matter be referred'to Trustee Scribner, Chairman of the Police and Fire Committee with power to act. The roll call resulted as follows. Yeas -All. Nays- None. Motion carried. COLLECTORS SALARY RAISED TO PER YOUTH. x$100.00 "T1 A motion was rade by Trustee ®cribner and seconded by Truatbe McKillip that the salary of Miss Florence Page, Village Collector be raised from $75.00 per month to $100.00 per-month and the same to be effective as of February 15, 1936. Those voting "Aye" were Trustee McKillip, Peterson, Pot- tenger, Scribner and i7illman. Those voting "Nay" being None. Motion carried.. A motion was made by Trustee Scribner and seconded by Trus- tee Pottenger that the bid of Ballman &Main, Inc.; Chicago, Ill.,_, whereby they agree to purchase our $38,000.00 Funding Bonds at the • rate of $1039.73 for each $1000.00 bond, together with interest accrued from date of bonds to date of delivery to them and to fur - nish all necessary legal proceedings and any auditing service re- blank quired to establish validity of claims to be funded, furnish 4,Vio bonds ready for signature and the rate of interest to be pay- able semi- annually, be accepted.' • Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Wing be authorized to issue Tax Anticipation Warrants in the amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred ($2500.00) Dollars. The foregoing motion upon being put to a vote was unani- r..ously carried, those voting "Aye" being: Trustee 'McKillip, - "tlay'� Peterson Pottenger, Scribner and Willman; those voting being; None. • - Resolutions authorizing TheL.Deerfield State Bank tobe tinued as the depository for the funds of Florence E. Page,-Village Treasurer and Comptroller Collector and George J. Page, Village by Trustee Pottenger which was were read and a motion was made seconded by Trustee Peterson to pass these resolutions as read. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee xicKillip, Peterson, Pottenger, Scribner and Willman. Nays- None. Motion carried. CHANGE IN STREET LIGHING SERVICE McGUIRE & ORR'S SUBDIV. A resolution requesting the Public Service Co. of Northern Illinois to change 17-Lights in the McGuire & Orr Subdivision from 250 C. P. to 100 C. P. was read and on motion by Trustee Pottenger, duly seconded by Trustee Scribner was adopted. Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas- Trustee McKillip, Peterson. Pottenger, Scribner and Willman. Nays- None. Motion carried.
