VILLAGE CLERK. by Trustee Ylotion June 11, 1935: A regular meeting of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was calledr_to order by the President Harry E. 11ing at 8 P. P.F. Roll call Present- Trustee McKillip, Page, Peterson, Potten ger and Willman. Absent- Trustee Scribner.' The minutes of the special meeting held April 18, 1935, the Pegular meeting held ATay 6, 1935 and of the adjourned meeting held'day 15, 1935 were read and approved. _. The report of the Finance Committee showed the following balances on hand in the various funds after current bills were paid to -be as follows -: General Fund- $798.19; Water Fund- $328.01; Road and Bridge Fund overdrawn $79.63. "`-Health and County Relations Committee reported several" cases-of measles, none of which were severe cases. The License Committee reported liquor dealers licenses applied and paid for with the-exception of the Brierhill Country Club'."' The chairman also stated that the Briergate Golf Club had'on deposit to cover last years liquor license a cash bond :`in the amount of•$100.00 which might be applied against their - 'past`due'water account. It was moved by Trustee Page and seconded by Trustee McKillip I that the Corporation Counsel"icGaughey write to the Briergnte'-Golf Club requesting the transfer of this money to the Collector of the Village of Deerfield and that the same be ap- plied against their water account. • Roll call resulted as follows- Yeas- All., Nays- None. 2�.'otion carried. The 1935 dog license tags are now available and it was suggested.that a news item-be entered in the local papers stat- ing that the license tags for dogs must be purchased at once. The water meter readers are to make a check -up on dogs without license tags while making their readings in July and make a re- port to'`the License Committee.-' The matter of having a new or-amended vehicle ordinance drawn up was referred to our Corporation Counsel for his con- sideration.' The Public Works Committee reported conditions at the Septic tanks to be very.favorable. Corporation. Counsel McGaughey also ,stated that he had written the State Sanitary Plater Board to send .one of their engineers to Deerfield to make further tests at the West Side-Septic Tank. The Plater Committee's report was.read by Trustee Page in the absence of the chairman Trustee Scribner. Water for lway., con - sumed by the .Village 492,600 Cu. Ft.; water billed to consumers �y.the.Village 301,300 Cu. Ft. which is a loss of 191,300 Cu. Ft. or approximately 3985. Chief of Police McLaughlin reported $72.00 in fines collected during the month of 2Say, 1935. It was moved by Trustee Willman and seconded by Trustee Page that the clerk be instructed to write to the Treasurer of Bannock- burn requesting settlement at once of the $100.00 account for services rendered at the two fires in their village to which our Fire Department was called or we will refuse to give them further protection and if they have a bill against us for work done on streets in the Village of Deerfield to present same and if found to be proper it will be approved for payment. A motion was made by Trustee Page and seconded by Trustee Pottenger that the President and the Clerk be,authorized to ' sign an agreement with the Carson - Hutchins Co. of Champaign,, Ill. to investigate and collect all tax. due from foreign;; insur- , ance companies for the period extending from July 1 „1924 to and including July 1, 1934, for-:.which -they are to receive°in full for their services a sum equal to MIS of all monies so collected. The Blue Ribbon Oil Co. now in the hands of receivers and being .indebted to the Village of Deerfield for water consumed, Corporation Counsel McGaughey was requested,to file, the proper claim with the Referee in Bankruptcy. The following ordinance governing the weight and width of trucks using the streets in the village of Deerfield and the penalties for violation thereof was read at`the`adourned meet - ing held May 15, 1935 and it was therefor moved by Trustee'Page and seconded by Trustee Willman that the ordinance be passed as drawn.
