Moved by Trustee Scribner and seconded by Trustee Pottenger
that the Fire Chief Jack Johnston be allowed to purchase 6 new
raincoats for members of the Fire Department and that same be
charged to the Village Of Deerfield.
Upon.roll call the following vote was taken - Yeas- Trustee
Page, Peterson, Pottenger, Scribner and Willman. Nays- None.
.Motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Page'and seconded by Trustee
Peterson,that the meeting be adjourned to January 14, 1935.'
Motion carried.

The adjourned meeting of our January 7, 1935 meeting of
the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deer-
field was called to order by the President Harry T. Clavey at
8 P. :M. with the following-trustees present - 'Page, Peterson,
Pottenger,.Willman and Ming. Absent- Trustee Scribner.
Trustee Page, chairman of the Auditing and Printing"
Committee read the report of Wilson &,Co. concerning the audit
of the; records of the Village Collector and tha Village Treas-
urer for the months of November,and December, 1934. Exception
was taken to._the acceptance of certain vouchers which were pre -
sented by Snyder, Walton & -Co. without a legal opinion from some
recognized special assessment authority. The report also pointed
out that the special assessment records are in need of a careful -
check against each other and balanced with assessment roll and
delinquent lists and other records of the County Treasurer.
After considerable discussion regarding certain vouchers
which were pecepted in payment of Special Assessments it was moved
by Trustee Tung and seconded by Trtistee Pottenger that we accept
the agreement offered by Mr. Walton of*Snyder, Walton & Co.
to furnish the Village of Deerfield with an indemnity bond' in the
amount of Three Thousand Four Hundred Seventy Dollars and Twelve t
Cents ($3470.12) -plus accrued interest, this bond to be approved
vt by the Corporation Cou4sel'MeGaughey and by the Finance Committee
and with the distinct understanding that no more vouchers be I
- taken in until such time as we have an opinion as to the legal ?
right to accept such vouchers.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken- Yeas- Trustee'
Page, Peterson, Pottenger, Millman and Mi#g. Nays- None. Motion
carried. _
Moved by Trustee Ming and seconded by Trustee Page that no
person or persons other than officials of the Village of Deerfield
have access.to the records of the village without the.written
permission of a majority of the Board of Trustees.
Roll call resulted as follows Yeas- Trustee Page, Peterson,
Pottenger, Willman and Ming. Nays- None. Motion carried.
Moved,. seconded and carried to adjourn.
