April 101 1945.
The regular meeting of the President and the Board of Trustees
of the Village of Deerfield was called to order at 8 P. M. with the
following trustees responding to the roll call; Benz, Cazel ,
Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Absent- None.
A motion was made, seconded and carried that Trustee Cazel
act as chairman pro tem.
The chairman requested that all present stand for a moment
of silence in respect for our late President of the Board Victor
E. Carlson.
The minutes of the meeting held March 15, 1945 were read
and it was moved by Trustee Mercurio and seconded by Trustee Benz
that these minutes be approved as read and that they be signed
by our Acting Chairman.
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- All. Nays- None. Motion
carried. '
Trustee Mercurio stated that he believed that the paper flying
from the garbage dump at the National Brick Company's yard was
creating a fire hazard and this matter was referred to our
Village Attorney Seago. `
The following bills were read and a motion was made by
Trustee Stanger and seconded by Trustee'Tonnis that these bills
be paid, if, as, and when funds are ave,ilable. `

A motion was made by Trustee Benz and seconded by Trustee
Mercurio authorizing the Village Attorney to bring suit against
Robert Sage for damages to lamp post on Waukegan Road.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken, Yeas- Trustee
Benz, Cazel Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Neys- None.

Benz that we observe clean -up week in the Village of Deerfield
with the following schedule; , '
