A motion was made by, Trustee Cazel and duly seconded by
Trustee Benz that the following reaolution be adopted;
RESOLVED, that the Commercial Lighting Co. Chicago, Illinois
have the authority to.proeeed to make necessary repairs in our
lighting system on the basis of a letter from them setting forth
their estimate of $400.00 and specifying in detail the work to
be provided and that the letter receive the approval of .a
majority of the Board of Trustees.
Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being Trustee
Benz, Cazel,' Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Those voting "Nay"
being None.

A special meeting,of the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President Victor
E. Carlson at'seven P.M. for the purpose•of approving the proposal
as submitted by, the Commercial Light Company for the repair of
certain lights in the business district and to discuss the'COmnibus
Ordinance.
The following responded to roll call: Trustees Benz, Cazel,
Mercurio, Soott, Stanger and Tennis. There were no absentees.
John Bsnz made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Cazel
that the proposal to remedy the defects in our lighting system as
submitted by the Commercial Light Company be approved and that they
be notified tb proceed with the work as outlined in their proposal.
Roll call resulted as follows: Yeas — Trustee Benz, Cazel,
Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and' Tennis. Nays- 21one. The motion carried.
The various licenses as nained in the omnibus ordinance were
discussed at length but no definate action was taken.

It was mooted by Trustee Benz and seconded by Trustee Stanger that
that the Clerk notify Seth Gooder to investigate the bowling alley
on matters of public safety. and the necessity. for additional exits
and other recommendations relative to fire hazardq.
Roll call wqs as follows- Yegs* Trustee Benz, Mercurio, Scott,
Stanger and Tennis. Nays, None. Motion carried.
Trustee Benz made &.motion that the Clerk be instructed to write
a letter in the form of .a regiest to the Deerfield- Bannockburn Fire
Protection District that they- -have all business places inspected
relative to storing inflammable materials on their premises which
might become a fire hazard. This motion was seconded by,Trustee
Scott.
The motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" were Trustee
Benz, Mercurio, Scott, Stenger and Tennis. Voting., "Nay" none.
A motion was made by ,Trustee Benz and seconded by Trustee
Mercurio that tha Board authorize and direct the Village Attorney
to plead a liability on Warrant 83 in the Winzer vs Deerfield suit
of* approximately 30; and to negotiate a settlement on the lowest possible
basis subject to the approval of the Board.

article be inserted in the local newspaper requesting- residents of the
Village to keep dogs from running at large.

President Carlson appointed Trustees Tennis and Benz as a. committee

form of-revenue the Village. of Deerfield will receive from the paper drive
made by the Boy_ Scouts.
Trustee Mercurio made °a motion;.that Chief of Police McLaughlin
make up a list of the names, addresses, tpy_es and kinds of;items handled
by the various business houses in the village. This motion was.secondedD
by Trustee Tennis.
