03/13/1944March 13, 1944. The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President Victor E. Carlson at 8 P. M. with thte following trustees respond - ing to the roll oall :-- Benz, Cazel, :'ercurio,_ Scott, Stanger and. Tennis. Absent- ;lone. Time minutes of our. meeting held February 7, 1944 were. read and approved. A motion was made by Trustee Benz and duly seconded by Trustee Stanger that the ordinance regulating the operation of bicycles and providing penalties for the violation thereof, be adopted, and that the committee charged with the drafting of this ordinance be dismissed with thanks. Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being Trustee benz, Cazel, Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Nays— None. The following bills were read and a motion made by Trustee Stanger and seconded by Trustee Cazel that these bills be approved for payment on receipt of the proper funds. Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas — Trustee Benz, Cazel, Mercurio,•Soott, Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None. Motion carried. Roebuck Co.------------ - - - - - -- _- _- -_._.. 3.68`*- A motioft was made by Trustee Cazel that-this Board authorize the Public Works Committee and Police Department to purchase 200 Bicycle Tags, have 200 Pamphlets printed containing bicycle ordinance and erect bicycle racks in the business section of the village. This motion was seconded by Trustee Stanger and on roll call the following vote was taken; Yeas- Trustee Benz, Cazel, Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis.. Nays- None. - Motion'oarried. Trustee Scott' read the report as submitted by the Police Magistrate Hunt•showing $15.00 in fines collected during the month of February and made a motion which was duly seconded by Trustee Stanger that this report be received. Roll call- Yeas- All. Nays- gone. Motion carried. It was.moved by Trustee Scott and seconded by Trustee Benz that an order for a uniform for Police Chief McLaughlin and one for Night Officer Anderson be placed with the Deerfield. Tailors at a price not to exceed $4e.00 per uniform. Upon' roll call the following vote was taken.: Yeas- Trustee Benz, Oazel;-Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None. Motion carried.
