The regular meeting of the President and the Board of Trustees
of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President
Victor.E. Carlson at 8 P. M.
Roll call- Present - 'Trustee Benz, Oazel, Mercurio, Scott and
Stanger. '
Absent- Trustee Tennis.
Police Magistrate Hunt submitted a report showing $6.00 in fines
collected during the month of January, 1944. A motion was made
by Trustee Scott and seconded by Trustee Stanger that this
report be received.
Motion carried by .a unanimous vote.'
The minutes of the regular meeting held January 11, 1944 were
read and approved.
The following bills were read and a motion made by Trustee
Stanger and duly seconded by Trustee.Cazel that these bills be
paid, if, as and wherl funds are available.

It was moved by Trustee Cazel and seconded by.Trustee Stanger
that the letter from the Deerfield Grammar School Student Council
regarding. the drafting of a bicycle ordinance be submitted-to
the members of.the Judiciary and Police Committees, the Chairman
of the Finance Committee and Corporation Counsel Erwin7Seago•
Upon roll calk the following vote was taken. Yeas- Trustea Benz,
Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger.. Nays- None. Motion carried.
Trustee Cazel reported that arrangements are being made for
additional parking ,space on the ._property_, north of the St. Paul
station*
A motion was made by Trustee Benz and seconded by,Trustee Mercurio
that purchasing agent Johnston be invested with the authority-
to purcho4a from the City,of Oak Park ornamental lamp globes at
the be4t' price possible but not to' exceed X3975 each.
Motion unanimously. carried. Those voting "Aye!'. being., Trustee Benz,
Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger: Those voting,, "Nay "_being None.
Trustee Cazel.made a motion that the amending.resolution appropri-
ating an additional :100.00 from motor fuel tax funds for the
Improvement of Section 3 -CS be adopted. Thib motion was seconded
by Trustee Stanger*
