RESOLUTION NO. R -12 -2
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A THIRD AMENDMENT
TO THE LAKE -COOK ROAD CORRIDOR AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Village of Northbrook and the Village of Deerfield have previously entered
into that certain Lake -Cook Road Corridor Agreement on July 25, 1995 ( "Original Corridor
Agreement "), as amended by a certain First Amendment to Lake -Cook Road Corridor Agreement,
and as further amended by a certain Second Amendment to Lake -Cook Road Corridor Agreement
(the "Corridor Agreement "), to provide for responsible and compatible land use planning and
administration within the Lake -Cook Corridor and to address issues concern the land use, zoning and
annexation standards to be enforced in the unincorporated territory within the Lake -Cook Corridor
as specifically described in the Corridor Agreement; and,
WHEREAS, since the execution of the Original Corridor Agreement and the subsequent
amendments to the Original Corridor Agreement, the parcels identified in the Corridor Agreement as
the "Baxter South Parcel ", the "Red Roof Inn Parcel ", and a majority of the "LaSalle and
Surrounding Parcels" (collectively the "Incorporated Parcels ") have been annexed into either
Deerfield or Northbrook; and
WHEREAS, Northbrook and Deerfield have determined that the planning objectives of the
Corridor Agreement, and of the Red Roof Inn Agreement between Northbrook and Red Roof Inn
with respect to the Red Roof Inn Parcel, have been satisfied with respect to the Incorporated Parcels;
and,

WHEREAS, Northbrook and Deerfield desire to further amend the Corridor Agreement as
provided in the Third Amendment to Lake -Cook Road Corridor Agreement, a copy of which is
attached hereto, to remove the Incorporated Parcel from the Corridor Agreement; and,
WHEREAS, Northbrook and Deerfield have the power and authority to enter into this Third
Amendment pursuant to their respective home rule powers, the provisions of Article VII, Section 10,
of the Illinois Constitution of 1970, the Local Land Resource Management Planning Act, the Illinois
Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, and Section 11 -12 -9 of the Illinois Municipal Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, in
the exercise of its home rule powers, as follows:
SECTION 1: That the Third Amendment to Lake -Cook Road Corridor Agreement, a copy
of which is attached hereto, be and same is hereby approved.
SECTION 2: That the Village President and the Village Clerk of the Village of Deerfield
are hereby authorized and directed to respectively execute and attest said Third Amendment to Lake-
Cook Road Corridor Agreement in substantially the form attached hereto for and on behalf of the
Village of Deerfield.
SECTION 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to transmit three (3)
executed copies of the Third Amendment to the Village Clerk of the Village of Northbrook after the
adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval as provided by law.
