The regular meeting of the President and the Board of
Trustees of.the Village of Deerfield was called to,order by
'the President'Victor E. Carlson at 8 P. M.
Roll call - Present— Trustee Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and
Stanger. Absent- Trustee Benz aAd Crush.
The minutes of our regular meeting held Febrhary 10,
1942 were read and approved.
A motion was made by Trustee Cazel that Claren6e Behnke
be permitted to repair Fairview Avenue between the County Line
Road and his residence for which he be given a check in the
amount of $3.00 and the same.be turned in to the Village of
Deerfield in payment of his_1942 vehicle tag. Motion seconded
by Trustee Stanger.
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas— Trustee Cazel,
Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Nays- -None. Motion carried.
Trustee Cazel made a motion which was duly seconded,by
Trustee Mercurio that we proceed with the work of cleaning
out septic tank.
. Motion unanimously carried. Whose voting "Aye" being
Trustee Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Those voting
"Nay" being None.
A report as submitted by Police Magistrate Hunt covering
fines collected in the amount of $51.00 ^for the month of

February was read and it was moved by Trustee Cott that this
report be accepted and placed on file.

It was.moved by Trustee Cazel and seconded by Trustee.
Stanger that Trustee Mercurio submit his bill for expenses in
connection with the creation of a fire district.
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- All. Nays -None.
Motion carried.
' P resident Carlson appointed Trustees Mercurio, Benz and
Cazel together with Fire Chief Uchtman as a committee to enter
into negotiation with reference to our present fire protection
equipment and it was moved by Trustee Stanger and seconded by
Trustee Scott that these appointments be confirmed by the Board.
Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being,,
Trustee Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Those voting "Nay"
being None.
A resolution to continue the Deerfield state Bank and the.
First National ,dank of Chicago as depositories for the funds and
monies received y Charles. J.'Turner as Treasurer of the Village
of Deerfield was read and it was moved by Trustee Mercurio and
seconded by Trustee Cazel that this-'resolution be adopted.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas- Trustee
Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Nays -None. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Mercurio and duly seconded by
Trustee Stanger that dater Superintendent Johnston be authorized
to purchase six new water meters.
Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being
Trustee Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Those voting "Nay"
being bone. /
