It was moved by Trustee Cazel and seconded by Trustee
Benz that the Village of Deerfield advance the necessary
expenses in connection with the election on the proposed
fire protection district with the expectation of having same
refunded if and when the fire district is voted in.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken.

A special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village.of Deerfield was called to order .'by the President
Victor E. Carlson at 8 P. M. with the following responding to
roll call : - Trustee Benz, Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger.
Absent- Trustee Crush.
. The meeting was called for the purpose of approving
certain bills in connection with Greenwood Avenue Improve-
ment.

A motion was made by Trustee Cazel and duly seconded by
Trustee Benz that these two bills be-approved for payment
out of Motor Fuel Tax Funds.
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee Benz, Cazel,
Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Kays--None,/ Motion carried..

Trustees of the Village of- Deerfield.was called to order by
the President - Victor E. Carlson- at,8 :15 P. M. with the.fol-
lowing•trustees responding to roll call. Cazel, Mercurio,
Scott and Stanger. Absent- Benz and Crush.
The minutes of the regular- held November 11,
1941, the special meeting held November 21, 1941, November
25, 1941 and-December 16, 1941 were read-and approved.

It was moved by Trustee Stanger and seconded by Trustees
Mercurio that these bills be paid when and as funds are available.
Notion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being
Trustee Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Those voting "Nay"
being None.
Moved by Trustee Cazel'and duly seconded by Trustee
Mercurio that the Village Attorney be instructed to write the
party occupying trailer located in the alley adjacent to the
north end of Jewett Park.
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas— Trustee Cazel,
Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Nays— None. Motion carried..
A motion was made by Trustee Mercurio and seconded by
Trustee Scott that President Carlson as Chairman Command Post
for the Village of Deerfield be given authority to purchase
essential requirements for the promotion of civilian defence.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas
Trustee Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Nays— None.
Motion carried.
Trustee Mercurio made'a motion that we submit leases to
the Deerfield Temple Association, the same to be accepted or
'rejected within one week from this date. This motion was
seconded by Trustee Cazel*
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas— All. Nays— None.

It was moved by Trustee Cazel and seconded by Trustee
Mercurio that we authorize the payment of $3187.67 to Peter
Baker & Son for Estimate No. 3 and $40.00 to Suhr, Berryman,
Peterson and Suhr, Inc. for engineering and inspection
services out of Motor Fuel Tax Fund for the improvement of
Greenwood Avenue.
Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being
Trustee Cazel, Mercurio, Scott and Stanger. Those voting "Nay" �
being None.
Trustee Scott made a motion that the salary of'Percy
McLaughlin, Chief of Police be $170.00,-p er month and that the
salary of Night Officer Al Anderson shall be $120.00. Motion
duly seconded by Trustee Cazel. 11\ '
