A motion was made by Trustee Cazel and seconded by Trustee
Benz that the-Skokie Asphalt Co. be awarded the contract subject
to the approval of the State Highway Department.
,Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas — Trustee Benz, Cazel,
Mercurio and Stanger. Nays- Norge. Motion carried.

A special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees I _;
of the ,Village "of Deerfield was called to order by the President
Victor E. Carlson at 8 P. M. for the purpose of opening bids for
a new police carp
The following responded to,roll,call. Trustee Benz, Cazel,
Mercurio, Scott,and Stanger. Absent- Trustee,Crush.
A Legal Notice having been published as req-4ired by law for
sealed bids to be received by the Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield at the special meeting of the said Board on `
Friday, June 27, 1941, until 8 P. M. (D4ylight Savings Time) at
the office of the Village Clerk, for the purchase of a police
patrol car upon which there is "to be traded in a 1939 Ford Tudor
Sedan with a 95 H. E. Mercury Motor. t
The following bid was submitted:
Purnell & Wilson, Highland Park, Illinois.

It was moved by Trustee Scott and seconded by Trustee Cazel
that the Board accept the bid submitted by Purnell and Wilson," Inc.-
Highland Park, Illinois, dated une 27, 1941 the specifications
and prices as stated in herewith and subject to the Police
Committee making the best deal possible for the installation and
repair of -the zadio now being used in the present car. It is under-
stood between Mr. Bruce Blaine and the Village,Board that the said
Blaine will arrange for the removal of the radio from the police
car to be traded in.and turn over said radio with the delivery of
the new car.
