A. K. Platt, a representative from the Sylvan Rifle Club
read a letter received from the government and requested
permission to use bullets of a larger caliber-than those
allowed in the permit granted by this Board at their meeting
held on July 11, 1940 for use in target practice. -
It was moved by Trustee Cole and duly seconded by Trustee
• Crush that permission be granted to the Sylvan-Rifle Club to use
larger than 22 caliber cartridges and of a speed not to exceed
1500 feet per second for use in target practice on rifle range
located on County Line Road provided proper steps be taken to
prevent bullets from going over earthwork.
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee Cazel, Cole,
Crush,•Palmer and Schneider. Nays- Hone. Motion carried.

the President C. Id. Willman at 8 P. M. with.the following
responding to the roll call;, Cazel, Crush, Pottenger and
Schneider. Absent- Trustee Cole and Palmer.

necessary for him to move himself and family to New York and
that under these circumstances he is herewith submitting his
resignation as a Village Trustees was read.
It was moved by Trustee Crush and duly seconded by

NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the.President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield in the County of Lake and State
of Illinois:
SECTION 1. It is hereby found and determined that the facts
recited above are true and correct and that this - Village is authorized
to issue its Judgment Funding Bands in the amount of Six Thousand
Dollars ($6,000) for the purpose of funding at least a like amount of
its valid and subsisting legal obligations represented by the judgment
(including costs and interest) described in the preamble of this ordin-

Dollars ($6,000) be issued for the purpose set forth in Section 1, and
for no other purpose. That such bonds be numbered -1 to 6 inclusive;
being of the denomination of $1,000 each, he dated as of November 1,
1940, be due and payable in numerical order as follows:_
$3,000 on November 1, in each of the years
1955 and 1956.
Said bonds shall bear interest' at the rate of four and one- quarter per I
cent (41/4 %) per annum, from date until paid, payable November 1,
1941, and semi - annually thereafter on the first days of May and Nov-
ember in each year.
SECTION 3. \That -the seal of this Village shall be affixed to each
of said bonds and 'said bonds shall be signed by the President and at-
tested by the Clerk, and that the interest accruing on such bonds to
their maturity date be evidenced by coupons thereto attached matur-
ing on the several days when such interest matures, and the said cou-
pons to bey signed by said President and be attested by said Clerk by
their respective facsimile signatures, which said officials, by the execu-
tion of said bonds, shall adopt as and for their own proper signatures
their respective facsimile signatures appearing on said coupons, that
said bonds and coupons be payable at the City National Bank and Trust
Company of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, and that such bonds and cou-
pons be payable to bearer, provided, however, that said bonds be sub -
tiect to registration as to principal in the name of the holder on the
books of the Treasurer of said Village, such registration to be evid-
enced by notation of said Treasurer upon the back - of•bonds so re-
t gistered, and no bond so registered shall be• subject to transfer except
upon such books and similarly noted on the back thereof, unless the

SECTION 5. That the Judgement Funding Bonds hereby auth -;
orized, bearing numbers 1 to 6 inclusive, in the aggregate principal
amount of Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000),'be executed as directed in

only for the purpose of paying principal of and interest on the bonds

SECTION 9. All moneys made available to pay said bonds by
operation of law or by action of the President and Board of Trustees
for otherwise, shall become a part of the sinking fund for the payment of a w
ibonds, principal and interest,' authorized by this ordinance, and shall
be used in the same manner and for the same purposes as the taxes „
herein levied..
SECTION 10. That immediately after the adoption and approval
of this ordinance same shall be published one time in The Deerfield .
News, a secular newspaper of, general circulation in and published in
said Village, and be posted in at least three (3) public places in said I
