October 8, 1940.
The regular meeting of the President and the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to--order by
the President C. M. Millman at 8 P. M.
Roll call. Present- Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer,
Pottenger and Schneider. Absent - None..
The minutes of the regular meeting held September 10,
1940 were read and approved. '
The following bills were read and a motion made by Trustee
Cole and seconded by Trustee Pottenger that these bills be
approved for payment on receipt of proper funds.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas- Trustee
Cazel','Cole, Crush, Palmer, Pottenger and Schneider. Nays -
None. Motion `carried.

A motion was made by'Trustee Pottenger and seconded by
Trustee Crush that Section One,.Item 3 of "An Ordinance Amending
an Ordinanm regulating the Sale of Alcoholic Liquor and
amending any and all amendments thereto" passed over the President's
veto on �Maa , 1940 reading as follows 'The annual fee for. Class
D licenses, as set out in said Ordinance and in any amendmentf.
or amendments thereto, shall be Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00),
payable one -half on or before May 1, and one -half on or before
November 1 of each year, and there.shall be only two (2) such
licenses issued during any one year,. regardless of the .Imber
heretofore issued',' shall be changed to read "The annual fee for
Class D licenses, as set out in said Ordinance and in any
amendment or amendments thereto, shall _be Six Hundred Dollars
0600.00) , payable one -half on or before May 1, and one half on
or before November l of each year, and there shall be only three
(3 such licenses issued during any one year, regardless of the
nuNber heretofore issued ". .
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas - Trustee Crush, Palmer
and Pottengerp Nays— Trustee Cazel, Cole and Schneider. • The vote
being tied) President Willman voted in the affirmative and there-
fore the motion carried.

A motion was'xade -by Trustee Cazel and seconded by
Trustee, Palmer that the resolution requesting an estimated
amount of $150.00 from the Motor Fuel Tax Division of the
State Highway Department for repairing Arterial Street #10
be adopted..
Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas -
Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer and Pottenger. Nays- None.
Motion carried.
A resolution for Maintenance of State Bond Issue Route
42 -A consisting of repairs and furnishing electric power for
the traffic signals at the intersection of State Aid Route 11
and State Bond Issue Route 42 -A to the extent of $290.00 was

read and a motion was made by Trustee Cazel and seconded by
Trustee Crush that the resolution be'adopted.
Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being
Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer and Pottenger. Those voting
"Nay" being None.
It was moved by Trustee Crush and duly seconded by
Trustee Cole that Trustee Cazel, Chairman of the Raa.d and Bridge
Committee be authorized to spend not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars 0200.00) for shaping, grading and graveling Hemlock
Street.
Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Ayer' being
• Trustee Cazel, Cole, .Crush, Palmer and Pottenger. Those voting
"Nay" being None. .
