09/19/1939. Trustee Pottenger arrived.` and' reoorded as presents: The matter of garbage disposal. was taken,up and a tentative plan for the collection of garbage was submitted by Cyrus O. Fritsch of Pfi& ten Road, Northbrook, Illinois. After considerable discussion it was decided that notices be made up and enclosed with the September 12th water bills which are to be signed by those willing to pay $1.00 per month for the removal of their garbage, ashes, tin cans, etc. Arrangements have been madetto secure the removal of garbage, etc., provided 250 residents each agree to pay the above .amount • CY Ct--4 It was reported that to date 41195.00 has been collected on the 1939 vehicle licenses and $388.00 on the 1939 dog licenses which is a•decided increase-over the previous year. A motion was made by Trustee Crush and seconded by Trustee Oazel that Cassius Easton be requested to appear before the Board of Trustees of the Village -of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois at a Special Meeting to be called for Tuesday, September 19th, 1939 at 8 P.,M. to.show cause why his license should not-be revoked and his $100.00 cash bond forfeited. Roll call.`. Yeas- Trustee'Cazel, Cole, Crush Palmer, -=:Pottenger and Schneider. Nays- None. Motion carried. A resolution-to continue the - Deerfield State ;Bank as the depository for the funds of.Florence E. Page Stryker, Village Collector of the Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois, was presented and it was moved by Trustee Cole and seconded by Trustee Pottenger that this resolution be adopted as presented. Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas - Trustee Oazel Cole, Crush, Palmer,.Pottenger and Schneider. Nays- None. �otion carried. A resolution for the retirement - of. bills owed by the n Village of.Deerfield for sod purchased for use in sodding a IFIXI portion of the drainage ditch (Central Avenue ditch) on State Aid.Route 11-Extension, Deerfield Road'from the municipality's allotment-of Motor Fuel Tax funds was read and a motion was made by Trustee Cazel and seconded by Trustee Crush that the resolution be adopted as read. A special meeting of the President and the Board of .Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called,to order by the President C. M. Millman at 8 :15 P. M. for the purpose of having Cassius Easton show cause why his liquor license should not be revoked and..his cash bond forfeited to the Village of Deerfield, and also for the purpose of passing a resolution designating additional streets for Arterial Highways. Trustee Crush, Chairman of the Police Committee stated that nine. or ten men, incapable of caring for themselves, due to excessive drinking, had been arrested and on being questioned; stated that liquor had been purchased at the Cassius Easton tavern.. On Labor.Day morning Trustee. Crush made a complaint to Mr.. Cassius Easton that through the, lack of co- operation on his part, an added burden was being placed on the Police Department.
