The minutes of the regular meeting held June 13, 1939' and of the special meeting held June 19, 1939 were.presented and read and approved. ' " A letter from Attorney V. William Briddle with reference to a bill of goods purchased from the Regalia Manufacturing Co. for bumper signs was presented and a notion was made by Trustee Cole and seconded by Trustee Palmer that we write to Attorney Briddle for a copy of this bill. Motion withdrawn. A motion was made by Trustee Cole and duly seconded by Trustee Palmer that a letter be written to the President Harry Wing of the Deerfield Temple Association requesting a meeting of.the Trustees of the Village of Deerfield together with their directors to discuss the possibilities of a reduction in rent. an roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas- Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer, Pottenger and Schneider. Nays - None. Motion carried. The following bills were read and a motion was made by Trustee Cole and seconded by Trustee Cazel that these bills be approved for payment on receipt of the proper funds. Motion unanimously carried. Bock-------------------------- - - - - -- 1.00 F�k_ f � A motion was made by Trustee Cole that water bills be sent out-on the 12th of each month with a cash discount allowance if paid on or before the 22nd of the same month, if the bill is not paid by the 12th day of the following month then a letter shall be sent out with the new bill calling the water userts attention to the fact that previous bill has not been paid and if the bill still remains unpaid by the 23rd of the month, then a notice shall be sent stating that unless water bill is paid by the first of the month following, water will be shut off. This motion was seconded by Trustee Palmer. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer, Pottenger and Schneider. Nays- None. Motion carried. Fire Chief Uchtman stated that the $75.00 authorized at the previous meeting of the Village Board for 21" suction hose did not quite cover the cost of the hose which was purchased. It was moved by Trustee Pottenger and seconded by Trustee Crush that the Board authorize the.payment of the necessary amount needed over and above the $75.00 previously allowed. On roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas - Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer, Pottenger and Schneider. Nays- None. Motion carried. Engineer Carl E. Schwob of the Illinois Sgitary Water Board was invited to address the Board relative to stream pollution of the North Branch of the Chicago River and he advised us that some action must be taken'to remedy the situation as it now exists. A motion was made by Trustee Palmer and seconded by Trustee Cazel that a letter be written to the Public Works Administration inquiring if funds are now available or will be in the near future to partially finance change in our present sewage treatment plants-and that a letter be sent to the Sanitary Water Board, signed by the President C. M. Willman stating what action is being taken in this matter. Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Ayett being Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer, Pottenger and Schneider. Those voting t1Naytt being None. Moved by Trustee Cazel and seconded by Trustee Palmer that'the resolution requesting additional monies in the amount of 0175.00 from the Motor Fuel Tax Fund for the oiling of Arterial Street No. 2, 3 and 10 be adopted. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas - Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer, Pottenger and Schneider. Nays- None. Motion arried. A Legal Notice having been published as required by law for sealed bids to be received by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield at the meeting of said Board on Tuesday, July 11th, 1939, until 8 P. M. (Daylight Savings Time) at the office of the Village Clerk, Waukegan Road, Deerfield, Illinois, for the purchase of a police patrol car upon which there is to be traded in a second hand truck now owned by said village, the President requested that these bids be opened. Motion made by Trustee Cole and duly seconded by Trustee Cazel that Robert L. Johnson and Burton M. McRoy be appointed as members of the Board of Appeals for.the years 1939 to 1944 and that Seth M. Gooder be appointed as a member of the Zoning and Planning Commission for the years 1939 to 191+4. Motion unanimously carried. Pottenger that the President C. M. Willman call a meeting for the purpose of considering appointments for the Zoning and Planning Commission. Upon roll call the fol owing vote was taken.
