07/07/1938 + 07/12/1938I July 7, 1938. A Special Meeting of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President C. H. Willman at 8 P. M. to discuss the rescinding of the resolu- tion passed at our regular meeting held June 14, 1938 to withdraw the application for PWA funds for alterations or additions J;o each of the two - existing sewage disposal, plants. The following responded to roll call. Trustee Peterson, Pottenger, Stupple and President Willman. Absent— Trustee Hertel, Palmer and Schneider. After considerable discussion, a. motion was made by Trustee Pottenger to rescind the resolution passed at our regular meeting held June 14,:1938, withdrawing application for PWA funds for the alterations and additions to each of the two existing sewage disposal plants. There being no second t6 this motion, it was moved by Trustee Stupple and seconded by Trustee Peterson to table this motion until our next regular meeting. Roll call resulted as follows. Those voting "Aye" being Trustee Peterson, Pottenger, Stupple and President Willman. Those voting. "Nay" being None. Motion carried. Loved, seconded and carried to adjourn. Nil The minutes of our regular meeting held June 14, 1938 were read and after making the following insertion "the matter of the garbage nuisance on the property leased by William Bubert was brought up and no action taken" they were approved. A motion was made by Trustee Pottenger and seconded by '- Trustee Stupple that*we rescind the resolution passed at ..our last regular meeting in which we withdrew our application.of September 5 1935 for funds from the Public Works Administr tion for the • alterations and additions in each of -the two exisng sewage disposal plants and that the matter be brought up for further consideration. - Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being Trustee Hertel, Palmer, Pottenger, Schneider and Stupple. Those voting "Nay" being No4e. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield: SECTION 1. That the offer of the United States of America .to the Village of Deerfield to aid by way of grant in financing the construction of additions and-improvements to sewage treat - ment plants, including the acquisition of necessary lands and rights of way therefor and improvement of the sites, a copy of which offer reads as follows: FEDERAL EMERGENCY ADMINISTRATION OF PUBLIC MORES Washington, D. C., Dated:.--June 28, 1938 Docket 'Pdo. Ill. 1633 —F. The Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois Deerfield, Illinois. 1. Subject to the-Terms and Conditions (PWA Form No. 230,. as amended to the date of this offer) which are made a part hereof, the United States of America hereby offers to aid in financing the construction of additions and improvements to sewage treatment plants, including the acquisition of necessary land and rights of way therefor and improvement of the sites (herein called the "Project "), by making a grant to the Village of Deerfield, Illinois (herein called the "Applicant "), in the amount of 45 per cent of- the cost of the Project upon completion, as determined by the Federal Emergency Administrator of Public Works, but not to exceed, in any event, the sum of $22,815. 2. By acceptance of this Offer the Applicant covenants to begin work on the Project as early as possible but in.no event later than 10 weeks from the date of this Offer and to complete such Project with all pracicable dispatch, and in-any event- within 6 months from the commencement of construction.- UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Federal Emergency Administrator • of Public Yorks By:' (Sgd. ) H. That the Village Clerk be and he is her authorized and directed forthwith to send to the Federal Emergency Administration of Public .S7orks three certified extracts from the minutes of this meeting'showing the adoption and containing the full -text of this__ Resolution, and such further documents or proofs in -connection with the acceptance of the Government's offer as may be requested by the Federal Emergency Administration of Public gorks. The above resolution was seconded by William Hertel and was adopted, with the following aye: Marshall Pottenger, Edwin Palmer, William Hertel, John D. Schneider,- -Harry Stupple, and the following voting nay: None. The President thereupon declared said Resolution carried and the President thereupon signed said Resolution in approval thereof. A Resolution for Maintenance of Arterial Streets by 11inicipality under the Motor Fuel Tax Law was read and it was moved by Trustee Hertel and seconded by Trustee Schneider to adopt this Resolution. Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas— Trustee Hertel, Palmer, Pottenger, Schneider and Stupple. Bays— .None. Motion carried. MR #= Motion made by Trustee Hertel and seconded by Trustee Pottenger to adopt the resolution as read, re uestin additional funds in the amount of Five hundred Dollars (500.001 for the • improvement of Broadmoor Place, which is known as Arterial Street PJo. 30 from Greenwood Avenue to -Hazel Avenue. Those voting "Nay" being None. , A motion was made by Trustee Stupple and duly seconded by Trustee Pottenger that the representative for the firm of H. C. Nutting Co., Cincinnati, Ohio -be authorized to make a survey for the purpose of detecting leaks -in a 'Watermain System'in the Village of Deerfield at a cost of 15.00 per mile. Motion with- drawn. It was moved by Trustee Pottenger-and-seconded by.Trustee . Stupple. to authorize Corporation Counsel McGaughey to, sign a .release-to the Continental Casualty-Co.- in-the matter. of Harry R. Rafferty and. or Rafferty Transfer -and Storage Co. on receipt of $74.11 as payment-for damages to-our-street lamp.
