03/12/194631 - March 12, 1946. , The regular meeting.of.the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was _called to order by the Prsident Robert S. Alexander at S.P. M. with' the following Trusteee're- sponding to the roll call; Oazel, Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Absent- Trustee Bradt. The minutes of the regular meeting held. February 121 1946 were read' and approved. Trustee Mercurio made a motion. which_ was ,seconded .by.Trustee Oazel that we replace the trees which,.were _taken'-down in error in front of the G. F. Olampitt property.. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee Oazel, Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. bays- 'None. Motion carried. Several residents of the Village of'the Deerfield called the attention of the Board to the fact that blasting was.being done at the clay pit of .the, National Brick Co. 'and also that fumes and smoke from the brickyard was becoming a nuisance. The President Robert S. Alexander appointed Trustee Tennis Bradt and Stanger together with the President of the Board A�.exander, Eric Banfield and Harold L. Peet to serve as a committee -to contact the National Brick Oo. and- bring.reoommendations to the Board at their next regular meeting. After considerable discussion relative to perfmitsassued to the Sylvan Gun and Rod Club and the Sheridan Club to operate rifle ranges, a motion was made by Trustee Mercurio and seconded by Trustee Oazel that both of these permits be revoked. Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas Trustee- Oazel, Mercurio, Scott,- Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None._ -Motion _carried. Mr. Robert Jordan requested that the Board reconsider the revoking of -the permit of the Sheridan Club. President Alexander appointed Trustee Tennis, Scott, ' Bradt together with Eric Banfield'and John Stryker as a eom- i mittee tq discuss this-matter with members of the Sheridan Rifle and Pistol Club and bring,in a report to this Board at their next regular, meeting. President Alexander appointed William H. Barrett as Deputy Building Commissioner and Trustee Mercurio _madeamboeion which which was seconded by Trustee'Cazel that this appoint nt confirmed by the Board. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas-'Trustee Oazel; Mercurio' Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None. Motion carried.. The following bills were read and a motion was made by ,Trustee . Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- All, Nays- None. Motion carried. Motion made by Trustee Oazel and seconded by Trustee Mercurio that the Superintendent of Public Works Johnston�be authorized to purchase a Diaphragm Pump. Upon roll call the following vote eras � taken. Yeas.. Trustee 0azel, Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Naya- None.' Motion carried. A "motion was made by Trustee Scott and duly seconded by, 'Trustee Stanger that ,proceedings be instituted for the fore - closure of the lien of the unpaid installments of special - _ assessments against the lots in Solomon's Subdivision. Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being Trustee Oazel, Mercurio, Scott, Stanger and Tennis. Those. voting "Nay n , being None. = Trustee Tennis made a motion that the Police Department -be directed to allow residents of the village to'shoot birds, rabbits or other animals if they become .pests or destroy property.
