09/11/194515 September 11, 1945. The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees was called to order at 8 P. M. with the following trustees re- sponding to the roll call - Present Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Stanger and Tennis. Absent- Trustee Mercurio and Scott. Upon motion made seconded and carried..Trustee Ca7,el was appointed chairman pro tem. The minutes of the regular meeting held August 15, 1945 were read and approved. Trustee Stanger made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Bradt that Trustee Cazel as chairman of the Road and Bridge Committee-be authorized to purchase sufficient gravel for filling in between the existing pavement and the sidewalk on the south side of Deerfield Road from the east line of Rosemary Terrace to the east lot line of the William Mitchell property. Roll call resulted as follows-, Yeas— Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Stanger and Tennis.- Nays- None. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Bradt-and seconded by Trustee Stanger that material for filling in the foxholes in Meadow brook Lane be paid for by the property owners and that the labor be furnished by the Village of Deerfield. <, Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas- Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Stanger and Tennis. Nays - Tone. Lotion carried. The .natter of a Building permit for a garage as-applied for by 'William D.-Baxter was referred to the Board of Appeals. Trustee Tennis made a motion that.we accept the -lease as submitted by The Deerfield Temple Association for village pur- poses with the inclusion of the exceptions. This motion was seconded by Trustee Bradt. Motion unanimously carried, Those voting "Ayes' being Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Stanger and Tennis. Those voting "Nay" being None. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Stanger and Tennis. Nays- None. Motion carried. 1s Trustee Bradt made a motion that the Water'Committee meet with Engineer Walther for the purpose of discussing the advisa- bility of installing an auxiliary vtateLrmain with the Highland Park Plater System for emergency purposes and'to take up the matter of lowering the water pipe across the -west drainage ditch and that the result of this meeting be reported back to this Board. This motion was seconded by Trustee Tennis. Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas— Trustee Bradt, Cazel, Stanger and Tennis. Nays— None. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Tennis and seconded by Trustee Stanger that the report-as submitted by the Police Magistrate showing $41.00 in fines collected for the months of May, June,. July and August, 1945 .be received. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas— All. Nays — None. Motion carried. President pro tem Cazel that the matter of the hazardous condition of the building at the southwest corner of Waukegan and Deerfield Roads be referred to Building Commissioner Bartlett. A motion was'made by Trustee Bradt-and seconded by Trustee Stanger that the clerk be instructed to reply to the letter received from J. A. Valentine, Roadmaster of the St. Paul Railroad-advicing him that we cannot grant permission to have one of their section-laborers park his trailer .on their right —of —way. it was moved by Trustee Stanger and seconded by Trustee Tennis that the letter from Mr. H. C. Hares relative to an additional rebate on Special Assessment Warrant ¢#60 be referred to-the Finance Committee and if necessary.-have a special audit made and then report back to the next regular board meeting.
