07/12/1954185 July 12, 1954 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was.called to order in the Council Chambers*of. the Village Hall on Monday, July 12, 1954 at 7:30 P.M. The Clerk called the roll and reported that the following were Present: John D. Schneider, President Fred 0. Dicus Eugene F. Engelhard Hubert N..Kelley. Joseph W. King Raymond T. Meyer Absent: Harold W. Wynkoop and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. On motion by Trustee Engelhard, seconded by Trustee King, the minutes of the meeting held June 14, 1954 were approved. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard, Kelley, King, Meyer (5) Nays: None (0) The Health report submitted by Health Officer Esther Approve Reports Giss was approved. The Police report - submitted by Justice of the Peace M. J. George, showing 52 cases and $662.00 in fines, was approved. The report of Mr. Rupp, Village Manager, on building activity in the month of June, 1954-was approved. The recommendation of the Plan Commission on a Plan Cormission petition for rezoning an R-7 area to R-2 was received. Report Referred Trustee Kelley moved, seconded by T ustee Engelhard, BacX that the report be referred back to -the Plan Commission with a request for a further report giving the facts on which the recommendation was based. Carried unanimously. The check for $4,962.83 from Mr. Guy Viti for the Receive Viti Check water main extension in North Waukegan Road was re- ceived and filed. Mr. Rupp, Village Manager, was requested to workout the necessary easements for connection tolhe water main west of the railroad tracks. A petition signed by Lyle Petersen, owner of property Petition -- Ordinance west of Wilmot Road, and Donald W. and Ruth Anderson, for Annexation Electors residing on said property, requesting annexation to the Village of Deerfield was presented. Trustee Engelhard moved, seconded by Trustee Meyer, that an Ordinance be adopted annexing the Lyle Petersen property to the Village of Deerfield. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard, Kelley, King, Meyer, (5) Nays: None (0) Trustee Dicus moved, .seconded by Trustee Engelhard, 1 Ordinanen - Rosemary that an Ordinance be adopted regulating traffic movement grace Traffic and parking on Rosemary Terrace on Sunday mornings. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard, Kelley, King, Meyer (5) Nays: None (0) Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Kelley, that Ordinance - Water an Ordinance be enacted establishing a minimum charge Charge for Construction of $5.00 for water used during construction. Adopted by the following votes. Ayes: Dicuo,,Engelhard, Kelley, King, Meyer (5) Nays: None (0) Trustee Engelhard moved, seconded by Trustee Heyer,_.thgt ., APpropriation thelnppropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year beginning Ordinance Y+y'l, 1954 and ending April 30, 1955, be enacted. Adopted by the following votes Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard, Kelley, King, Meyer (5) Nays: None (0) Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Engelhard, Awards - .Sewer and that the contract for the construction of the Sewage Treatment Plant Treatment Plant be awarded to W Ish Construction Co. Contracts at their Unit Price Bid of $336,41440, and the con- struction of the Sewers to Kuch and Watson at their Unit Price Bid of $220,165.00, all in accordance with the prepared plans and specifications. These contracts to be subject to payment from Bond Funds to be sold for this purpose, and to negotiating any changes necessary resulting from a revision of plans. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: 'Dicus, Engelhard, Kelley, King,: Meyer (5) Nays: None (0) Mr. Jens Petersen, Wilmot Road,.requested information on Wr,&ckers License and Bond requirements. This matter was referred to the Village Manager, Clerk and Village Attorney for study. Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by Trustee Engelhard, that Sewer Extension William Barrettes sewer extension of 4stgate Road be W.stp-ate--Road approved, subject to approval of plans by the Village Engineer. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard, Kelley, Ki4g, Meyer (5) Nays: None (0) Mr. D. J. L. Walther, Village Engineer, reported Mr. Viti's was held up until easements and surveys were received. A letter form James Anderson, Engineer for the Drainage District, requesting information about Village improvements in the DrainaVge District was referred to the Village Mananger and Engineer.. The Village Manager and Attorney were directed to study and bring to the Board for decision the request of Mr. Jens Petersen-,for an additional water con- nection outside the corporate limits.
