03/18/1954March 18, 1954 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of.the tillage of Deerfield, called by order of tie President, yras called to order in the Council Chambers of the Village hall on 1hursday, March 18, 1954 at 7:00 P.M., pursuant to notice of said meeting mailed to each Trustee on March 15, 1954 about 6:00 P.M. at the Deerfield Post Office. The Clerk called the roll and reported that the following were Present: John D• Schneider, President Fred 0. Dicus Eugene F. Engelhard Joseph W. King Raymond T. Meyer Absent: Hubert N. Kelley �.Harold.W. Wynkoop and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. President Schneider stated the meeting was called for the purpose of considering the employment of a Police Commissioner, and for tescinding the action designating Percy "cLaughlin as Acting Chief. Trustee King moved, seconded by Trustee Ordinance - Police Dicus, that an ordinance be adopted author Commissioner izing the Village Manager to hire a Police Commissioner for the Village of Deerfield, and setting forth his duties and salary and the salary of Police I _32- Lieutenant Peterson. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard,.King Meyer (4) Nays: None (0) Mr. Martin, Village "' nager, recommended Appoint Police the employment of Mr. Charles N. Fuller-I Commissioner as Police Commissioner. Trustee Dicus moved, seconded by Trustee Engelhard, that the Board authorize and approve the hiring of Mr. Fuller as Police Commissioner. Adopted by the following voter TINI Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard, King, Meurer, Schneider (5) Nays: None (0) Trustee Engelhard moved seconded.by Trustee Authorize 22 King � that the Village Lard authorize the for Path expenditure of $225, to be paid.to the WCst- view Property Owners' Association, toward the cost of putting in a path from the wept end of the tresent concrete walk, West of Deerpath Drive, to the Wilmot School; said path to be located on the Village parkway, on the south side of Deerfield Road. This expenditure is approved subject to the oompletion of the work and payment of the balance of the cost by the Westview Property Owners' Protective Association; it being further agreed that the cost of maintenance of said path shall be the responsibility of the Westview Property Owners' Protective Association. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Dicus, Engelhard, king, 1'`eyer (4) Nays: None(0) Trustee Dicus moved, seconded by Trustee Parking Study Meyer, that the Deerfield Safety Council and the Deerfield Chamber of Commerce be requested to make independent studies of the parking problem in the business district, and to recommend to tie Police Committee any action which may seem helpful in solving the problem. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: All (4) Nays: None (0) There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion duly made and seconded , the meeting was adjourned.
