04/13/1953126 April 13,'1953• The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the.Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President Andrew G. Bradt at g P. M. Roll call- Prdsent- Trustee Engelhard, Hincfisliff, Kirig,• Meintzer and Wilson. ' Absent - Trustee V';ynkoop. The minutes of the regular meeting held March 9, 1953 were approved as typed. - The minutes of the`adjourned meeting , held -March -23 ,1953 were approved as typed. - The minutes of the special meeting held March 30, 1953 were approved as typed. Trustee King made a'motion which was seconded by Trustee Engelhard that we authorize an expenditure not to.exceed $500.00'for a report from the North Shore Sanitary District relative to a proposal by the Citizens group as to the feasibility of Deerfield being annexed to the North Shore Sanitary District and requesting -that the district answer the.questions attached to the tentative letter drafted by the Village Manager and also any other questions which the Citizens group wishes to have answered,.`. `Roll bell. YeaS- Trustee Ehgelhard,.King and.Meintzer. Nays - Trustee Hinchsliff.hnd Wilson. Not having a 2 /3rds vote, the President Andrew G. Bradt voted "Aye ". Motion carried. It wan moved by Trustee Meintzer and seconded by Trustee Wilso# that the following ordinance vacating the alley running north ..and south in the block bounded on the north by Walnut Street, on the-west by the Union Drainage Ditch,.on the..south by the previously vacated east -west alloy, and on the east by Woodward Avenue,.be passed. Upon roll -call the following vote was taken. Yeas- Trustee Engelhard, Hinchsliff, King, Meintzer and Wilson. Nays- None. Motio carried.... Ordinance attached hereto ' _u A motion wasrmade by Trustee Meintzer and seconded by Trustee Engelhard that the following resolution be passed. BE IT RESOLVED that all village business be conducted on Central.Daylight.Savings Time beginning the last Sunday of April and enging the last.Sunday of September of each year. Roll call resul d as follows,-Yeas- Trustee Engelhard, Hinch- sliff, King,.Meintzer and Wilson. Nays- None. Motion carried. Trustee Meintzer made a motion which was seconded.by Trustee Engelhard that the following be appointed as Judges and Clerks for the Village Election to be held April`21,.1953• Judges G. A. Willen Bernice Mau Hazel Clifford Precinct No. _1 Clerks Florence Uchtmann Clara M. Merner Florence Hoffman Precinct No. 2. The following bills,were read and it wa o d by Trustee Wilson and seconded by Truste V - that these bills be paid; if, as, and when funds are available. - Upoa roll call.the-following vote was taken. Russell Arrington,Chairman of the Judiciary Committee; Jack Bairstow, A. B. McConnell, Harvey Pearson, State Representatives and Robert McCloy, 486 urging that they oppose the passage,of House Bill No. which would permit garbage dumping by the land fill method within one mile of the corporate limits of any municipality.
