11/10/1952November 10, 1952. A regular meeting of the President and the Board of Trustees. of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President Andrew G. Bradt at.8 P. M. Roll call - Present -,Trustees Hinohsliff, King, Meintzer, 'Nilson and Wynkoop.. Absent - .Trustee Englehard The minutes of the regular meeting of October 13, 1952, and of the special meeting of October 27, 1952, of which copies were pre- viously sent to all members of tha Board of Trustees, were adopted. Trustee King in submitting the Health officer's report, reported one complaint as to meat sold by one local store but which was found to be in good order by the State Health Department. The following bills were read and it was moved by Trustee Wilson, and seconded by Trustee Hinchsliff, that these bills be paid if, as and when funds are available. Roll call resulted as follows. Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas - all. Nays - none. 11otion carried. Trustee Wynkoop submitted a report from the Deerfield Safety Council with regard to school crossing guards.. He also re- ported that the brickyard had been,cliecked by the Police Department and that between the hours of 8.A. M. and 4 P. M., on the date, of checking, seventy -five trucks were reported to have brought refuse to the dump. The check did not disclose whether the refuse was garbage or,fill. It was,moved by Trustee King, and seconded by Trustee Wilsofti; that the following resolution be adopted: " MMREAS', certain installments of certain Special -Asseesments which 'have been levied against the following described property are unpaid: .Lot Twenty -Twq (22) in Block Twenty.(20),in H. M. Cornell Company's.Briarwoods, a Re- subdivision of part of H. O. Stone and Company's Addition to Deerfield, in Section Twenty - flight.. (28) and Twenty- Nine.(29)9_in Township.Forty- Three (43) North, Range Twelve.(12)0' East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Lake County, Illinoist amounting to One Thousand Forty- Pour & 90/100 ($1,044.90); Dollars principal indebtedness. , AND WHEREAS the President and the Grustees of the Village,of_Deerfield are willing that_proceadings be instituted for the foreelosure of.all the liens of the unpaid installments of the aforesaid special assessments levied against the above described property. a BE, AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Trustees of the Village of Deerfield, that ANTHONY J..MERCURIO, as attorney, be and he is hereby.authorized and directed to institute proceedings on behalf of the Village of Deerfield for the foreclosure of the lien of Special Assessments against the above described property. 3E, AND IT IS 1URTHER RESOLVED TW21 ANTHONY J. MERCURIO, as attorney -be and.,he is hereby.authorized to institute said proceedings by filing a complaint on behalf of the Village for the foreclosure of the lien*of Special-Assess- ments levied against the above described property, all in accordance with the Statute of the State of Illinois, in such case made and provided. } BE, AND IT IS HEREBY IURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing is on the condition that.the Village-of Deerfield shall ? be held harmless from and shall not be required to pay any costs, faes or charges in connection with such foreclosure proceedings. The President reported for Trustee Englehard that the State Motor ]Fuel Department acknowledged a request for recognition of the report of the recent special census. He suggested that the Chairman write again to emphasize the results of the census and asked for proper apportionment of.gasoline taxes to the Village on the basis thereof. The President reported the resignation of Mr. Hubert Kelley from the Zoning Board of Appeals and that he was appointing-Mr. Ja*es Mitchell as his successor. It was moved by Trustee Wilson, and seconded by Trustee Wynkoop, that this appointment be confirmed by the Board. Roll call resulted as follows Yeas — all. Nays none. Motion carried. The President reported that an application had been filed in letter form by Fred C.- •Harnish for a license to operate a retail liquor store in the Village. The President.directed the Clerk to inform the applicant that the Village Ordinance on ..the matter does not make another'1loensetavailable for a.retail liquor store in Deerfield.
