A RESOLUTION ADOPTING AN IDENTITY THEFT POLICY AND PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003, an
amendment to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, required rules regarding identity
theft protection to be promulgated; and
WHEREAS, those rules become effective May 1, 2009, and require municipal
utilities and other departments to implement an identity theft program and
policy, and
WHEREAS, The Village of Deerfield has determined that the Prevention
Program, attached, is in the best .interest of the Village and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, in the exercise of its
home rule powers, that the Village of Deerfield Identity Theft Prevention
Program, attached, is hereby approved; and
This Resolution shall be in full .force and effect upon its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
