01/03/1995January 3, 1995 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the Mayor in the Council Chamber of the Village Hall on Tuesday, January 3, 1995, at 8:00 P.M. The Clerk called the roll and announced that the following were: Present: Bernard Forrest, Mayor Marvin W. Ehlers Harriet E. Rosenthal Edwin B. Seidman Vernon E. Swanson Michael Swartz Absent: John Heuberger and that a quorum was present and in attendance. Also present was Village Manager Robert Franz. Trustee Seidman made a motion, seconded by Trustee Swartz, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. The motion passed unanimously. REPORTS TEXT AMENDMENT & The Plan Commission held a public SPECIAL USE - PET hearing on December 8, 1994 to consider GROOMING, 1456 WAUKEGAN a text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to allow pet grooming facilities as a Special Use to permit the operation of a pet grooming facility at 1456 Waukegan Road. By a 5 to 0 vote, the Plan Commission recommended that a text amendment should be made to the Zoning Ordinance so as to allow a pet grooming facility as a Special Use in the C -2 Outlying Commercial District with a parking ratio of one (1) parking space per 200 sq. ft. of gross floor area. By the same vote, they further recommended that the petitioner (Terry Everwine, 1255 Elmwood) be granted a Special Use to permit the operation of a pet grooming facility at 1456 Waukegan Road subject to the following stipulations: 1.) an appropriately sized dumpster be provided for the pet grooming facility, 2.) overnight boarding of pets be prohibited, and 3.) a decorative fence a minimum of four (4) feet high be installed around the dog run. Following a brief discussion, Trustee Seidman made a motion, seconded by Trustee Swartz, that the recommendation of the Plan Commission be approved and the attorney directed to prepare the necessary ordinances. The motion passed unanimously. CONSENT AGENDA ORDINANCE - PLANNED An ordinance approving a planned DEVELOPMENT - 1209 development at 1209 Gordon Terrace. GORDON TERRACE First Reading. Trustee Rosenthal made a motion, seconded by Trustee Swanson, to approve the consent agenda. Motion passed unanimously. DISCUSSION EXECUTIVE SESSION Trustee Seidman made a motion, seconded by Trustee Swanson, to go into executive session to discuss land acquisition.
