RESOLUTION NO. R -05 -05
A RESOLUTION APPROVING INVOICES FOR
ELECTRIC WORK AT THE NEW PUBLIC WORKS STORAGE BUILDING
WHEREAS, a new storage building has been constructed for the Deerfield Public Works
Department east of the Deerfield Wastewater Reclamation Plant; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works sought proposals from electrical
contractors to perform electric contracting work in connection with the storage building project;
and,
WHEREAS, Department of Public Works determined that Aldridge Electric Company,
an experienced and reputable electric contractor that has satisfactorily performed many previous
electrical contracts for the Village of Deerfield, submitted a proposal for the timely and
economic completion of the necessary electric distribution, heating and lighting work for the
storage building project; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works worked with Aldridge Electric in
completing electric contracting jobs in connection with the storage building project on a time and
material basis at a cost of $39,575.78; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Manager retained an independent electrical contractor to review
Aldridge's invoices and electric contracting work and, based on said contractor's report,
determined that the work was properly performed by Aldridge Electric in a manner that was
timely, economic and in the best interests of the Village; and
WHEREAS, the work should have been awarded by the Village Board as a single
contract subject to competitive bidding pursuant to the Deerfield Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Board is of the opinion that it is in the best interests of the
Village of Deerfield that non - compliance with competitive bidding requirements in the approval
of the electric contracting proposal submitted by Aldridge Electric should be waived, and that the
performance of said work on a time and material basis should be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, in the exercise of its home rule powers, as follows:
SECTION 1: That the above and foregoing recitals, being material to this Resolution,
are incorporated and made a part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: That invoices issued by Aldridge Electric Company in the amount of
$39,575.78 be paid for electrical contracting work for the new storage building project without
formal competitive bidding, and the same is hereby approved and ratified.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval as provided by law.
