04/26/1971The manager reported he had communicated with Senator Karl Berning to oppose
bills relating to annexation of tracts of 60 acres or less and mobile home parks.
Trustee Bootz suggested that letters be sent opposing these bills.
A letter from President Leroy Hall of Bannockburn requested that Deerfield permit
the discharge of sewage from a limited number of homes in Bannockburn into the Deerfield
sewage system on a temporary basis.
President Forrest stated the Planning Consultant for the Village is preparing an
Official Map as part of the Comprehensive Plan, which will be ready in a week or two.
Family Day July 5th Trustee Bootz moved, seconded by Trustee Kelm,
that July 5, 1971 be declared Deerfield Family
Day, as requested by the Family Day Committee. Motion carried unanimously.
The President reported that Mr. Marvin Ehlers had been elected to the Board of
Education of School District 110, and therefore had submitted his resignation from the
Board of Building Appeals. The Manpower Commission will be notified of this vacancy.
Trustee Bootz move4, seconded by Trustee Kelm, that the melting be adjourned to
Monday, April 26, 1971 at 8:00 p.m., to canvass the returns of the election to be
held April 20, 1971. Motion carried unanimously, and the meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.

The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees ofthe Village of
Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village
Hall on Monday, April 26, 1971 at 8:30 p.m. The clerk called the roll and reported
the following were
Present: Bernard Forrest, President
George Kelm
George P. Schleicher
M. Jay Turner, Jr.
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Mr. Richard Houpt,
Village attorney, was also present.
Canvass Election The clerk.announced that the judges of election
in each precinct had duly delivered the ballots,
returns and tAlly sheets in connection with the election for Village officers held on
April 20, 1971. Trustee Schleicher moved, seconded by Trustee Turner, that the clerk
open and read the returns. Motion carried unanimously.
The clerk then opened and read the returns which showed the following votes cast
for the persons indicated:

Ordinance .Canvassing Election The ordinance was presented canvassing the
(0- 71 -13) results of the regular election held April 20,
1971, and declaring the following persons
elected to the offices and for the terms set opposite their names:

Trustee Schleicher moved, seconded by Trustee Turner, that the ordinance be
corrected by striking the name "Diana Diamond" which was not listed on the official
returns, although shown on unofficial returns. Motion carried unanimously.
Trustee Schleicher then moved, seconded by Trustee Turner, that the rules be waived
to permit action,dn the ordinance at its first presentation. Motion carried unan-
imously.
Trustee Turner moved that the ordinance be passed. Seconded by Trustee Schleicher
and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Kelm, Schleicher, Turner, Forrest (4)
Nays: None (0)
The President signed the ordinance indicating his approval thereof.
There being no further business, on motion by Trustee Schleicher, seconded
by Trustee Turner, the meeting was adjourned a
