10/03/1966138 The CATV meeting at the High School will be held Monday, September 26th at 8 p.m. Trustee Schleicher suggested that the Board arr.A ve about 7 :30 - 7 :45 to meet the speakers personally. He reported that there had been several changes in speakers, although the organizations remain the same. President Finney stated the appraisal for the Rommel property had been received and asked the manager to notify Mr. Jack Bateman that the Board proposes to discuss this, matter with the merchants on Thursday, September 22nd, if convenient. The manager reported it would cost approximately $135 each to convert the old street lights in the Briarwoods Subdivision from electricity to gas. This price includes parts and labor. He stated the Supt. of Public Works was trying to find a pole near a gas main for a demonstration. The President reported he had received a card from Mr. Arthur Ullmann of the Sister City Committee, who is visiting Deerfield's sister city, Luedinghausen, Germany. The Burgmeister had added his greetings. Discussion was had on the Presbyterian Church parking lot, and the manager's report that the Church wanted to replace one row of parking spaces with a 20 ft. strip of shrubs and lawn. Trustee Wetzel stated the Chutch should be informed of their responsibility to provide a fair share of parking space, as other churches have been required to do, and asked that the parking plans for the church be reviewed carefully. Trustee Raff stated the church should be allowed to include the easement given for road purposes in the computation of parking area. Trustee Schleicherstated it was not unreasonable to expect the church to.-•submit a complete parking plan, showing location of parking on other property, and approval of owners.for the use of their property for church parking. The manager and building commissioner will review the plans and notify the Church of the Board's concern.
