06/13/1966li!'J V U 91 June 13, 1966 Special Meeting Pursuant to notice thereof, a special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, June 13, 1966 at 8 :25 p.m. The clerk called the roll and reported the following were Present: H. Ross Finney, President Raymond L. Craig Bernard Forrest Charles H. Raff George P. Schleicher Ellis W. Smith James M. Wetzel Absent: None and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also present were Messrs. Richard Houpt, Village attorney, and Norris Stilphen, manager. The clerk read the notice of the special meeting. Discussion was had on the petition of Baxter Laboratories to rezone the 140 acre tra (tt in West Deerfield Township lying north of County Line Road between the Toll Road and Saunders Road, except the west 600 feet thereof, from the OR Office and Research classification to the LI Light Industry classification. Trustees Schleicher, Raff and Forrest expressed great concern about an adequate buffer to protect nearby property adjacent to or within the Village, and protection for properties located south, west and north of the subject property. Trustee Craig suggested that greater protection would be given to'.the Village if the 65-.acre tract at the northwest corner of County Line and Wilmot Roads were shown as single family residence district on the Village's juridictional map, although the property is zone OR under the County zoning ordinance. Trustee Raff moved, seconded by Trustee Schleicher, that a Resolution be adopted opposing the petition of Baxter Laboratories for rezoning property to the LI Light Industry classification, but the opposition would be withdrawn if the rezoning request were granted on the basis that the eatterly 300 ft., the northerly 300 ft., and the southerly 600 ft. remain in the present OR Office and Research classification, the westerly 600 ft. being excluded from the petitioned rezoning. The motion failed by the following vote: Ayes: Forrest, Schleicher (2) Nays: Craig, Raff, SmIth, Wetzel (4) Resolution Approving Baxter After further discussion, Trustee Wetzel moved, Rezoning(R- 66 -14) seconded by Trustee Smith, that a Resolution be adopted approving the petition of Baxter Laboratories to rezone property in West Deerfield Township to the LI Light Industry classification. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Craig, Smith, Wetzel, Finney (4) Nays: Forrest, Raff, Schleicher (3) Request Plan Commission Trustee Schleicher moved, seconded by Trustee Hearing, Jurisdictional Map Forrest, that thb Plan Commission be directed Amendment to Residential to hold a public hearing on an amendment to the jurisdi'(ttional area map to designate the 65 acre tract at the northwest corner of County Line and Wilmot Roads as a single family residence district.
