04/19/1965L_ 1 1 April 19, 1965 The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, April 19, 1965 at 8:05 p.m. The clerk called the roll and reported the following were Present: I. K. Hearn, President John A. S. Lindemanp James E. Mandler George P. Schleicher Ellis W. Smith James M. Wetzel Absent: None and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Winer 560.00 Trustee Wetzel moved, seconded by Trustee Lindemann, that the payroll for March be approved, and the bills as listed above be approve for payment. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Lindemann, Mandler, Schleicher, Smith, Wetzel (5) Nays: None (0) Rental of Village Hall The manager reported the United Fund Committee had requested the 1 J 1 use of the Village Hall on April 28, 1965, and he had notified them of the rental charge. Following a brief discussion, Trustee Wetzel moved that the usual rental charge be waived for the United Fund Committee. The motion failed for want of a second; therefore the rental fee will be charged. Public Meetings Discussion was had on the matter of meetings open to the public, and committee meetings at which the public is excluded. Trustee Mandler moved, seconded by Trustee Smith, that the Village attorney prepare an ordinance to clarify the question of attendance at public and discussion meetings, in accordance with his letter of opinion. Motion carried unanimously. Trustee Mandler moved, seconded by Trustee Wetzel, that minutes of the regular meeting held April 5, 1965 be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. V) Trustee Mandler moved, seconded by Trustee Schleicher, that the 10 meeting be adjourned to 8;00 p.m. April 26, 1965 for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the April 20, 1965 election.
