A meeting of the Board of Local Improvements of the Village of Deerfield
was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall
on Tuesday, September 7, 1971 at 8:30 p.m. The secretary called the roll and
reported that the following were
Present: Bernard Forrest, President
Albert E. Brust
Werner W. Neuman
Stephen M. Slavin
Absent: Charles R. Bootz
George Kelm
M. Jay Turner, Jr.
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also present
were Messrs. Richard17Houpt, Village attorney, and Norris Stilphen, manager.
Mr. Slavin moved, seconded by Mr. Brust, that the minutes of the meeting
held August 16, 1971 be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
Bids -S /A #110- Wilmot Sealed bids for construction of Wilmot Road
Curb & Sidewalk curb and sidewalk, Special Assessment No. 110,
were opened and read as follows:
BIDDER BID CK. OR BOND
Eric Bolander Construction Co. $17,746.89 $2,100 Ck.
Lakeland Construction Co. $17,910.05 $1,800 Ck.
Mr. Slavin moved, seconded by Mr. Neuman, that the bids be referred to
the engineer for report and recommendation at the-next meeting.
Motion carried unanimously.
Authorize Issuance Voucher 19 The manager reported that all waivers of lien
S/A 108 $43,072.97 on Special Assessment No. 108 had not been
Zera & Ritacca received from the contractor.
IIr....Kelm entered the meeting at 8:38 p.m. and was present thereafter.
Mr. Slavin moved, seconded by Mr. Neuman, that,the issuance of Voucher
No. 19 be authorized in the amount of $43,072.97 to Zera Construction Construction
and A. Ritacca & Sons, Inc., for work completed under Special Assessment No. 108,
Hovland Improvements, subject to the filing of waivers by the contractor.
Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brust, Neuman, Slavin, Forrest (4)
Nays: None (0)
Pass: Kelm (1)
There being no further business to come before the Board of Local Improve-
ments, on motion by Mr. Slavin and seconded by Mr. Brust, the meeting was
