A meeting of the Board of Local Improvements of the Village of Deeffield was
called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday,
October 6,.1969 at 8:05 p.m. The secretary called the roll and reported that the
following were
Present: Bernard Forrest, President
Jayman A. Avery, Jr.
George P. Schleicher
Stephen M. Slavin
M. Jay Turner, Jr.
_ Absent: Charles R. Bootz
George Kelm
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also present were
Messrs. Richard Houpt, Village attorney, and Norris Stilphen, manager.
Authorize Issuance Voucher #7 The Engineer's payment estimate No. 2 in the
$79930.75 to Zera & Ritacca amount of $79,930.75 was received from Charles
S/A 108 - Hovland Improvements W. Greengard Associates, Inc. Mr. Schleicher
moved, seconded by Mr. Avery, that the engineer's
estimate No. 2 be approved and the issuance of Voucher No. 7 in the amount of $79,930.75
be authorized to Zera Construction Company and A. Ritacca & Sons, Inc. for work com-
pleted under Special Assessment No. 108, Hovland improvements. Adopted by the following
vote:
Ayes: Avery, Schleicher, Slavin, Turner (4)
Nays: None (0)
Re: Complete S/A 107 ' A letter from Charles W. Greengard Associates, Inc.
Contract- Kennedy Const. Co. stated that Kennedy Construction Company had
failed to complete Hovland sewer and water improve-
ments, Special Assessment No. 107, under the contract which expired October 2, 1969.
They requested authorization to have the work done by other contractors, the cost
thereof to be paid from money dire Kennedy Construction Company. The attorney was asked
to review the contract and report to the Board.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Local Improvements,
on motion by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Schleicher, the- meeting was adjourned at
8:.10 p.m.
