12/02/1968December 2, 1968 A meeting of the Board of Local Improvements of the Village of Deerfield was called to.order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, December 2, 1968 at 8:10 p.m. -The secretary called the roll and reported that the following were and that a quorum was present and were Messrs. Richard Houpt, Villa; Resolution Authorizing Issuance of Vouchers SIA 107 (Hovland) No. 107, Hovland Improvements, as Present:. H. Ross Finney,. President Charles R. Bootz Bernard Forrest George Kelm Charles H. Raff George P. Schleicher Absent: Raymond L. Craig in attendance at the meeting:. Also present ;e attorney, and Norris Stilphen, manager. Mr. Raff moved, seconded by Mr. Forrest, that the resolution be adopted authorizing the issuance of vouchers on Special Assessment follows; pnd execution of the Certificate therof: Henry L. Uteg & Associates $ 5,353.49 Charles W. Greengard Associates, Inc. 36,277.50 Pedersen & Houpt 11,784.43 Village of Deerfield 3,063.96 George W. Kennedy Construction Co. 97,160.40 Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Bootz, Forrest, Kelm, Raff, Schleicher (5) Nays: None (0) The President and members present signed the resolution, and the secretary signed the Certificate of the Issuance of the First Voucher to be filed with the Clerk of the Circuit Court. Award Contract Westgate.Sidewalk Zara Construction $596. special assessments, as follows: Zera Construction Lewi Gulbrandsen The manager'reported two bids had been received for the construction of a sidewalk on Westgate Road, Lot 1, Dowdall & Finney Subdivision, by $596.00 860.00 Based on the low bid of $596.00, the property ownerc-jwould pay $520.00, the Village to pay $76.00 from Public Benefit funds. Mr. Raff questioned whether the Village should pay one -third of the cost of the sidewalk inasmuch as there is an existing sidewalk along the side lot line. After a Erief discsys.si.on of precedents, Mr. Raff moved, seconded by Mr. Bootz, that the bid.of ZeraCConstruction be accepted in the amount of $596.00, and the Village pay $76.00 as public benefit and $173.33 from sidewalk funds. The motion failed by the following vote: Ayes: Bootz, Raff (2) Nays: Forrest, Kelm, Schleicher (3) Mr. Kelm moved,..-seconded-.by Mr....For.res.t., .that. the bid of Zera..Cons.truction Company be accepted in the amount of $596.00., the as.sessment.to.be.spread on the basis of payment of $520.00 by the property owner and. $76.00..by the Village. Sidewalk The manager reported two bids had been received Gulbrandsen_ $850 for the construction of a sidewalk along the frontage of the premises commonly known as 232 Deerfield Road, as follows: Lewi Gulbrandsen Zera Construction $850.00 930.00 Mr. Raff moved, seconded by Mr. Forrest, that the bid of Lewi Gulbrandsen in the amount.of $850.00 be.accepted,.the full cost of the improvement to be paid by the property.owner..
