A meeting of the Board of Local Improvements of the Village of Deerfield was
called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on
Monday, October 7, 1968 at 8:10 p.m. The secretary called the roll and reported that
the following were
Present: H. Ross Finney, President
Raymond L. Craig
Bernard Forrest
Charles H. Raff
George P. Schleicher
Absent: Charles R. Bootz
George Kelm
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also present were
Messrs. Richard Houpt, Village attorney, and Norris Stilphen, manager.
On motion by Mr. Schleicher, seconded by Mr. Raff, and carried unanimously,
minutes of the adjourned meeting.held September 30, 1968 were approved as submitted.
Ayes: Craig, Forrest, Raff, Schleicher (4)
Nays: None (0)
The President and all members present signed the recommendation indicating their
approval thereof.
Approve & Authorize The contract with George W. Kennedy Construction
Execution Contract Company for the construction of sewer and water
Hovland Improvements improvements in Hovland Subdivision, Special Assess -
S/A 107 ment No. 107 was presented. Mr. Raff moved,
seconded by Mr. Schleicher, that the contract be
approved subject to approval by the Village attorney, and subject to the condition that
no property owner appears prior to the expiration of the statutory time and proposes
to do any part of the improvement by cash; and, subject to the foregoing conditions,
the President and secretary be authorized to execute the said contract on or after
October 12, 1968. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Craig, Forrest, Raff, Schleicher (4)
Nays: None (0)
Mr. Kennedy asked.that the date of the contract be shown as October 7, 1968,
the date of the Bond. The Village attorney stated that the Bond-'date ` hotfld be' changed
to the date of execution of the contract.
Recommendation - Sidewalk
A recommendation by

to the Board of Trustees
for the passage of an
ordinance providing
for the construction of a
sidewalk along the north side of
was presented and read in full.
Deerfield Road between
Beverly Place and Heather Road
Mr. Raff moved, seconded
by Mr. Schleicher, that
the recommendation be adopted
and submitted to the Board of Trustees.

The Village attorney reported that the amended assessment for the
Hertel Lane improvements, Special Assessment No. 106, was confirmed August 4,
1968, publication has been made, and bids will be received November 4, 1968.
There being.no further business to come before the Board of Local
Improvements, on motion by Mr. Raff, seconded by Mr. Craig, the meeting was
adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
